I'm confused, subby. This information is only applicable to contractors, who are granted their clearances through DSS and not the gov't personnel who are cleared through DoD or DoE (or whomever).

It should call it into question, hence why the linked page said that the DSS had been receiving inquiries about whether or not signing those petitions is grounds for paperwork which would cause somebodies clearance to be reviewed.

However, as the page also stated, official policy on whether or not such a signature to a petition is grounds for an adverse report is not decided yet.

For now, at this moment, it isn't.

Honestly, if these petitions and this so-called seccesion movement just peter out and fizzle away in the next couple of months, yeah, it will probably just drop.

If Teabaggers and their ilk keep talking about seccesion and leaving the Union, and it's more than a very passing fad, yeah, then it's almost certainly Goodbye Clearance (and I'm imagining some choice openings in nice MOS's from some soldiers who probably signed them).

Its been a while since I had mine, but I was pretty sure one of the questions asked when getting clearance was along the lines of "have you ever advocated overthrow or secession from the federal government"

Subby, are you just learning to read? At this time, previously cleared personnel, who have signed a petition do not require an adverse information report be filed. The DSS is still reviewing the issue and more guidance will come later. In other words, forget about it and carry on.
