xanadian: Is it me, or did the $ amount go down? I thought it had crested over $15k... I checked the other day and it was over $15k |

xanadian: Is it me, or did the $ amount go down? I thought it had crested over $15k... No, I'm sure you've gone down too. |
||
| Treygreen13 Finally. |
||
| angrymacface xanadian: Is it me, or did the $ amount go down? I thought it had crested over $15k... Some of it was removed due to "administrative" fees. |

I hope the only t-bird that gets bought is a cheap toy, and the other $15K+ cash goes straight to charity, instead of the complicated risky taxy buying an actual car and then reselling it. |
||
| Biness
Thank god. Can this end now? |
||
| Hack Patooey Nope, looks like its about $1000 less than it was yesterday. |

| Molavian That was some cheap hookers and blow, guys. Class it up a bit. |

| oldfarthenry Tax Boy: I hope the only t-bird that gets bought is a cheap toy, and the other $15K+ cash goes straight to charity, instead of the complicated risky taxy buying an actual car and then reselling it. Nope. Buy a bird and let Joe ride it on over to GOP HQ and do a few donuts on their front lawn - all "good-sportsman" like. |
||

I am just grateful that you guys didn't give this money to the American Cancer Society or something. |
||
| Treygreen13 bboy: I am just grateful that you guys didn't give this money to the American Cancer Society or something. The money will eventually go to charity, it will just get filtered through a couple of awful ideas first. Like taking money, buying a Trans-Am, then selling the Trans-Am and giving the money to charity. |

| WelldeadLink oldfarthenry: Nope. Buy a bird and let Joe ride it on over to GOP HQ and do a few donuts on their front lawn - all "good-sportsman" like. They're only hoping for Joe to put it on the White House lawn. They didn't specify whether he should do that within four years. |

Final destination. |

| Frank N Stein I like how on the FAQ there's a part that asks along the lines if "how do I know you won't rip us off?" The response is akin to "Well we're Fark cool and there's a lawyer running it. You can always trust a lawyer" |

And a special thank you to all those people who ceaselessly took every opportunity to bad-mouth this charitable campaign out of ignorance, a lack of reading ability, or just plain spite! Hopefully you achieved your goal of decreasing the amount of money that might have been raised for some good causes. Yay you! |

Seemed like a brilliant plan. |

I'm giving this whole campaign the bird. |

Hopefully you achieved your goal of decreasing the amount of money that might have been raised for some good causes. Yay you! I'd imagine the real reduction in money to charity will come when the Trans Am fails to sell at auction. Or goes for what they paid for it (which of course with all the fees means you still lose money in that X /I just mail my donations directly to selected charities to avoid such problems //which reminds me, CS Mott's need its Christmas check |

| LineNoise I'm kind of bummed this didn't hit 25k, just because we will be deprived the train wreck that the organizers would have had trying to put their plan in motion. Instead we just get to watch them hand some cash over to some "charities" people will squabble about. |

You can always trust a lawyer" Yeah, I saw that too. When a lawyer says "trust me", it simply means "rest assured that whatever way I chose to rip you off, it will follow the letter of the law precisely". |

A charitable campaign does not buy a car to turn right around and auction it off. Let's be real here. |

Hopefully you achieved your goal of decreasing the amount of money that might have been raised for some good causes. Yay you! There were valid concerns that were brought up in the threads and you people shot them down and labeled them as trolls on the basis that they didn't fall in line and talk about how awesome you guys are. You guys treated Fark as your own person charity army and couldn't stand up to any criticism without crying to RichieLaw. The idea was recklessly irresponsible with donation money, the charity aspect was a ham-handed after thought, and the PR was atrocious. |

| shower_in_my_socks xanadian: Is it me, or did the $ amount go down? I thought it had crested over $15k... Crowdfunding sites like IndieGoGo take a % of what you raised when your fundraiser is over -- that's how their business model works. If you didn't hit the goal that you set for yourself, they take a little bit higher % than they would have if you had hit it. |

Like taking money, buying a Trans-Am, then selling the Trans-Am and giving the money to charity. Why is that an awful idea? It's entertaining, and a used beater that suddenly becomes Joe Biden's used beater is going to bring a lot more money at auction that this joke has raised. Hater. |

Hack Patooey: Nope, looks like its about $1000 less than it was yesterday. It seems some people were rescinding their donation(s). One day it said there were more than 700 donors, the next it said there were fewer. Oh well. /Nice to see you. |

They all add up, not to mention that Biden isn't even on board with the idea. It would be a net lose so idiots can say "We made mey-mey tru life!" |

But it's not Joe Biden's used beater. It's just a used car. And if the auction is as popular as your marketing efforts here you're going to sell it for even less charity money. You could skip the actual used car bit and still buy him a little Trans-Am and give it all to charity. I hope that's what you do. Also that the missing money is explained. Donors pulled out? |

If you didn't hit the goal that you set for yourself, they take a little bit higher % than they would have if you had hit it. That doesn't make any sense. Why would they deduct that from the official total on the page? That figure is for how much was raised. The amount of money raised doesn't change just because you use some of it to pay fees. |
