There are very few "common" foods I won't eat (in reasonable portions). The smell of fried chicken immediately turns my stomach, and I have no idea why. Added difficulty: I'm from Kentucky. I can't imagine being stuck in a pressurized tube with it. Those little airsickness bags aren't big enough. |

the Japanese are absolutely in love with KFC. |

Will they be showing this week's "Walking Dead" on the flight? |

| PsyLord Greasy chicken wings at 30,000 feet with only a few lavatories available? What could possibly go wrong? |
||
| brantgoose KFC. This is what you get for refusing to declare War on Christmas, Pacifists! |

weiserfireman: the Japanese are absolutely in love with KFC. It's still junk food, but KFC in Japan tastes much better. Shouldn't be thought of as the same product. |

I'd heard that JAL was slowly improving again, but after this I'm going to stick with ANA. No 39. |

oldfarthenry ![]() Chow down - I say - chow down on this, little lady. We should be liftin' off in a minute (both the plane from the tarmac and you from the toilet seat). |

Best part of a bulimic's birthday party? The moment when the cake suddenly jumps out of the girl. |

I swear, as I started to read TFA, the aroma of fried chicken came wafting in through the window. And I'm on the 17th floor. |

You know what else comes in a bucket? |

And if you don't like Colonel Sander's chicken.... try Colonel Angus. Once a woman is introduced to Colonel Angus, she'll settle for nothing less. |

I first read that as "It's great for blumpkins." That actually works, too. |

Every time I think of Japan Airlines I can't get that 1980s crash out of my head. They were alive for over 30 min knowing they were doomed. ![]() ![]() ![]() Japan Airlines flight 123 those poor poor people. |

I would love some KFC on a flight instead of the crap meals they typically serve. |

Chicken karaage, a popular Japanese small plate ("robata"), tastes just like KFC. It's small, boneless pieces of breast and/or thigh meat, fried and served cold or at room temperature with a dipping sauce. Oishii desu ne! |
||
| TOG85 Honestly, it'd taste better than the usual meals served on flights. |

A better choice than steak and fish. |

[www.airdisaster.com image 488x365] [www.airdisaster.com image 250x147] [media-3.web.britannica.com image 550x360] Japan Airlines flight 123 those poor poor people. Yep. One of the survivors, an off-duty stewardess Yumi Ochiai, has written an account of the crash (link pops, Japanese only, text only), it's pretty creepy read. Banking side to side at utterly insane levels for all the last bit, too, but people were oddly calm. There was just nothing at all anyone could do. 4 survivors out of 520, IIRC. nucular bum: Chicken karaage, a popular Japanese small plate ("robata"), tastes just like KFC. It's small, boneless pieces of breast and/or thigh meat, fried and served cold or at room temperature with a dipping sauce. Oishii desu ne! Karaage has got to be one of my favorite foods, though I quite like American fried chicken also. Both are a food that's good hot or cold, so ideal for lunches. Lately I see on TV (sadly, only on TV) that there's apparently a karaage boom of sorts going on in Japan, with lots of chains and people experimenting with it, convenience stores having various varieties... got so damn hungry watching the show but for me to eat that, I have to make it at home, which is rather a pain in the ass (probably good for my weight, though!) Japanese fast food in general I prefer to the US ones, and that includes the US-originated chains. They get localized and it's just better, IMHO. |
