| The reason Congress hasn't solved the fiscal cliff problem is because they're too busy deciding which day is the best to honor Elvis |

| IAmRight Do you really want the idiots you elected to try to fix more things they know nothing about? |

| FirstNationalBastard ChipNASA: Jan 24th? [spatuladad.com image 500x342] Logically, it would be January 8th, or August 16th. The only question is whether you celebrate his birth or death. |

I thought it was because instead of 800 billion in new taxes Obama wants 1.6 and sole power to have no debt limit and another 50 billion in stimulus to pay off his cronies who helped him get reelected while cutting nothing but the millitary and to keep borrpwing cash from China so we can keep giving cash to countries who hate us and not expecting it to be repaid |

If they were serious about honoring Elvis, they would designate everyday Elvis Presley Day. |

Since Elvis is everywhere, everyday would logically be Elvis Presley Day. |

Because literally every single member of Congress has to be in 24/7 365 meetings a week about a single contentious issue and they have literally nothing else to talk about, especially not a five minute bill that nobody will think about twice. |

Elvis was a hero to most but he never meant shiat to me. |

| johnryan51 Congress is on track to be the most do nothing in history. Hey they named a lot of post offices. I wonder if their going to read the constitution again? That worked out great. I know, tax cuts for the rich! I bet nobody thought of that. |

| Mitch Taylor's Bro The guy who brought it up was voted out. [curlybillwellbye.jpg] FTFA: "House Republican leaders have scaled back votes on commemorative resolutions, contending such things wasted floor time needed for more pressing matters." Well, how about that? I agree with House Republican leaders for a change. Also FTFA: "Supporters of the resolutions say they bring deserved recognition to individuals and groups and attention to important causes while providing moments of bipartisan good cheer in an otherwise divisive Capitol." If a cause is important enough, it gets attention all on its own, so limit your feel-good BS to your town hall meetings with your constituents and get to work fixing/advancing the country. |

| johnryan51 Inheritance tax goes up to 55% the blah man has them by the balls! |
||
| Red_Fox
The real reason they haven't solved it is that there is no fiscal cliff and this is just an excuse to scare the public into eventually supporting bailout part 3 after the 'failure to solve the fiscal cliff' forces your markets down artificially due to market speculation...therefore creating the illusion of needing another bailout. |
||
| Mega Steve
Also, do I have to shoot my TV on that day, or can it be any day? |
||
| Wellon Dowd johnryan51: Inheritance tax goes up to 55% the blah man has them by the balls! I wonder if any wealthy Norquistians are going to off themselves in the next four weeks in order to avoid the higher tax? I have been led to believe they make major life decisions based on tax implications, and suicide is the majorest life decision of them all. |
