Never understood tats. My theory is that people with tats are broken in some way. |

My favorite librarian stereotype. Crazy cat-eye glasses, tattoos, and a love of linguistics. |

This thread has the potential to be the antidote to the pic of the author of that article about having sex in libraries. She could scare paint off a mailbox. |
||
| UsikFark Friskya: UsikFark: The tramp-stamp is translated as "double happiness." [i46.tinypic.com image 400x627] Or, so they told her. It's probably legit: Link |

| theorellior BummerDuck: My theory is that people with tats are broken in some way. I kno, rite? They're probably circumcised, too. Soulless wankers. |

BummerDuck: Never understood tats. My theory is that people with tats are broken in some way. That is more a hypothesis than a theory and a shiatty one at that. |

| Podmore BummerDuck: Never understood tats. My theory is that people with tats are broken in some way. Well, their skin was certainly broken, so I guess you're technically correct. No tats personally, but I've always been fascinated by them. I just can't think of an image I can muster that amount of commitment for. I actually admire the people who do feel so passionately about something that they'll permanently ink it on their body. And I'm always amazed by the people who just didn't stop to think that maybe that "POG Collector" tattoo might not be so cool a decade or so later. |

| dickfreckle We have a semi-regular librarian's convention here in New Orleans, and it's fantastic. Librarians (mostly American but many from elsewhere) descend on the city and it's more or less like every bad cliche sprung to life. When I was a bartender I used to fall in love every year they held it here, because nothing beats being simultaneously cute and smart. Many great times! But yeah, they do the unleashed librarian dancing on the bar bit, will let their hair down and shake it out if you ask them humorously - like I said, all the cliches. My favorite librarian of all time carried a bottle of Glenlivet in a - you guessed it - NPR tote bag. Lol. We drank all of it watching the ships go by on the river, and made love in the park. /wistful sigh |
