Well the video cuts out the good part.... but I'm going to assume the two officers simply walked in opposing directions to flank the guy, and whoever had the clear shot took it. Cant hold a shield on both sides of you.

Also, why the hell would the guy walk towards the cops.

Sheesh, everyone knows "suicide by cop". No one takes a hostage in LA thinking the cops are going to shoot the hostage. The cops here may be crazy trigger happy, but they do tend to shoot the crooks (and ask questions later).

And anyhow, this is like the safest year in decades for LaLa land. Los Angeles having the rep for being gangland central is soooo 1990's.

I used to work on the road, and was hanging out with some of the guys. They put on one of the Faces of Death DVDs. I really have no desire to see real-life death like that, but I was drunk and didn't feel like going back to my own motel room yet, so I just tried to ignore. There was only one clip that I approved of because of the circumstances.

The vid was of a police showdown somewhere in Asia (Philippines, I think) of some cocky asshole holding a pregnant woman at knife-point. The police are shouting orders at it, and the dick keeps shouting back "Do it! Shoot me!" with a grin on his face. The cops get tired of waiting and put a bullet between his eyes. I didn't like seeing the guy die, but he totally earned it.
