Wait, is this ironic like the song or the other one? |

thinks a face looks trustworthy... more prone to scams from people they cannot see. Yep, got it. |
||
| Hobodeluxe
*looks at Fox News' viewer demographics* yep I have to say that my research agrees with theirs. |

How do you think the carpet sweeper business came to be? |
||
| AverageAmericanGuy
It's a positive feedback loop. Old people are more vulnerable to being scammed, so scammers target old people, so old people get scammed more. At some point, the whole thing explodes in a fiery cascade of sparks and smoke. |

I almost started a driveway sealing business with a buddy in high school, a few years before that process was found to be essentially useless. |

| Wise_Guy
Apparently so does NBC: Link |
||
| I_Can't_Believe_it's_not_Boutros I guess this explains Pete Townsend. |

Scams like Fox News' reality bubble? |

FTA according to a study by Shelley Taylor of the University of California, Los Angeles, published on Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. $%# FOX NEWS! #$%!* |

Jake Havechek: I almost started a driveway sealing business with a buddy in high school, a few years before that process was found to be essentially useless. Those guys do pretty well in our area, you can extend the life of an asphalt driveway for years by maintaining it properly. Who told you it was useless? |

Hobodeluxe: *looks at Fox News' viewer demographics* yep I have to say that my research agrees with theirs. Except, of course, it wasn't their research. They're just "reporting" on the same story that's been around a bit lately. At the top of the page it even says "Published December 03, 2012 / Reuters" |

In New England with the temperature extremes, it's pretty useless, that's why we seal the cracks only, not the entire driveway. |

JunkyJu: That explains the election results of the last 4 years. It explains why the republican voter base is older than the democrat voter base..... |
||
| missmez They seem to go one way or the other. My husband's grandmother gave away.most of her money to virtually anyone who asked (and called social services on whoever tried to stop her), but my own grandparents treated everyone but immediate family as potential conmen. |

I think you assumed that I was talking about them when I said "theirs" but I was only referring to their demographics and their methods. not the research. |

Jake Havechek: Explains how Lou Dobbs is a blithering idiot. And also why J.R. "Bob" Dobbs is such a good salesman. |

They're just "reporting" on the same story that's been around a bit lately. At the top of the page it even says "Published December 03, 2012 / Reuters" he didn`t say the research was done by fox, just that after looking at the fox demographic he agreed with it (with the implication that fox lies) Stop making up posts in your head to reply to..... |

Hah not me, as I grow older I seem to be getting more and more paranoid. The nursing home is gonna LOVE me when I start setting up spy cams everywhere, running the license plate of everyone who drives into the parking lot and start doing background checks on every person who walks into my room :P Never can be too careful ya know! |

AverageAmericanGuy : It's a positive feedback loop. Old people are more vulnerable to being scammed, so scammers target old people, so old people get scammed more. I agree. When my Aunt turned 80 she got on some kind of old fogies list and she gets three times the "gimme money" mail that we get. And when the land line rings, it's usually for her from some other "gimme money" group. With me as soon as they launch into their sales pitch I hang up. But most of her friends have up and died or gone away, to nursing homes or to live with their kids and she gets lonely. So she listens to them. Which no doubt gets her on more lists. |

New England is filled with common sense people who aren't easily scammed. Come on down to NJ, there are assholes everywhere you look. I know because I am one. You'd make a fortune. |

In New England WE'RE EFFING TIGHTWADS, FTFY I'm a contractor who has lived and done business in the NYC area, the mountain west, and now in new hampshire. As a group, you people in new england (I'm speaking of the natives, not transplants) give the concept of being a cheapskate a whole new meaning. I gave up trying to work for the natives. All my clients are transplanted white collar folks. You crackers are in the same class as people from india. You aren't satisfied with getting a good deal. You want it for nothing. As for sealing your driveway, some people do it for the aesthetics. It just looks nice when you recoat it. |

| No Time To Explain
Also in other news, watching fox news will also change your brain so you're more prone to scams, and watch fox news and take them seriously /vicious, vicious cycle |

Some people, I guessed, might just see the headline and think Fox actually did something. |

| Techhell Jake Havechek: Explains how Lou Dobbs is a blithering idiot. Sort of a shame, that. I used to enjoy his non-immigration stuff on CNN until he grabbed a tuba, put on a pair of adult diapers and bought a ticket to be the Conductor of the the Crazy Train, (twice) |

In unrelated news, Fox is starting an old folks channel with astronomical advertising rates. |
