Santa told the truth? So what? |
||
| darth_badger
Little farker was dressed like a lumberjack and hockey sucks. |

moops: Santa told the truth? So what? Yeah, but it's not nice to point these things out to kids. There's plenty of time to rub it in when they've grown. |

| kidakita
Not only do they suck. They've sucked for years and years. The only reason they won games 10-12 years ago was because of Sundin, Cujo, and then Balfour. After that, they sucked harder and harder with each passing year. The ownership isn't even trying. |

The Nissan Leaf does suck. |

You're on the naughty list, so Santa gave you the truth for Christmas this year. |

People are still buying season tickets for some reason (not this year, obviously). |

Santa is one truth-talking dude. |

| you_idiot
It's a paradox. Is the statement true or false; "Santa said the Leafs suck" On the one had "Santa" on the other "Leaf's Suck" so there is truth and there is deception. |

How can you tell it's springtime in Toronto? |

"Then he said, 'Oh, you're wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs tuque, you shouldn't be wearing that, they suck.' At that point, I took my son and told him we should go, Santa isn't being very good today," Trent told Toronto Sun. "My son was very, very upset about it." /really, this is what you get all butt hurt about? And your son is "very very upset" about it? I'm guessing he is upset because you got upset. 3 year olds dont have the capacity to know what sarcasm is, and are pretty much oblivious to being insulted. You're the one who got all butt hurt over nothing and lost the guy his job. Merry Christmas to you too jackass. |

Greatest Santa ever! Santa should tell the truth more often... (To a fat kid holding milk and cookies): Keep your cookies and eat them on the treadmill, you diabetes-developing fast-food vortex. (To a little girl): You want a skateboard? While I am at it why don't I get you an Emo CD and some flannel clothing too? What's your army boot size? (To a horrified parent): Oh, don't be so shocked with that open mouth of yours...opening your legs is what caused this little moron to be born in the first place... ...and so on, and so on... |

People are still buying season tickets for some reason (not this year, obviously). It's an open secret that enough of the season tickets are block purchases for corporate entertainment purposes to make the team's ability to win games irrelevant. I would love to find out which corporations basically own which areas of the ACC. The team's majority owners happen to be the two largest telecoms in our cartel-controlled country, which own multiple sports channels along with most of the private broadcast TV and radio assets. It doesn't matter if the Leafs are a joke, because they're pretty much just a live sports entertainment performance sold to companies looking to entertain clients and sell products, like myriad reality TV channels to pay TV customers. |

I might point out the the Bell/Rogers ownership has not had a game played on their watch yet. But the point that the Leafs don't have to win, don't have to get into the playoffs to be profitable, because every home game is sold out largely with corporate season tickets filled (or not) with people who could care less about the game itself and don't make a lot of noise in the building has to suck for the Leaf players too. There are some rinks around the league that are filled with actual fans, and are tough to play in as the visiting team. The ACC is not one of those. |

I am now compelled to repeat "Leafs suck" every time I see my niece until she learns to talk. With any luck, she'll say it all the time. She's growing up in alberta, so it won't matter, it'll be funny....if her mom doesn't kill me. |

Cybernetic: Hey, when was the last time that the Leafs went into December undefeated? Considering they "lost" the Winter Classic about a month ago, I'll go with "not since 2004". /Yeah, yeah, leave it to us to actually lose a game during a lockout. |
||
| penfold314
The best part of the lockout is the Leafs are still tied for first |
||
| spqr_ca Frankly, given the current state of affairs, they all suck, players and owners alike. Every last one of them from every team in the NHL. |

| Suckmaster Burstingfoam BTW nobody has noticed? The guy who fired Santa? Named ROSENBLATT? Perhaps he had an ulterior motive? Like hating Christ? /they see me trollin' |

Point taken - I'd forgotten that the MLSE ownership change was too recent to have much of an effect yet. I don't think the ownership will improve the situation. If the quality of their channels and services are any indication, the coasting will continue. |
