And with a population already in freefall, this should only accellerate that. McDonalds... The solution to overpopulation. |

Yeah that kind of becomes required after you systemically fish every tuna there is out of the Pacific Ocean |

population in freefall you say? What they need is *takes off sun glasses*.... more white meat. /buys one way ticket to Tokyo. |

| edmo If I had to eat seafood, vegetables, and fruit exclusively, I'd eat less too. |

Fears that the fish might be radioactive probably contributes. |

EdNortonsTwin: glass_ibis: "Seafood" isn't meat? It's a restaurant menu thing. I think its easier to put it into a separate category due to the techniques used for catching/raising and processing. |

WHERE ARE THE VOLUPTUOUS ASIAN CHICKS?? |

I'm not fat. I'm sumo-in-training. |

| ThunderPelvis ecl: WHERE ARE THE VOLUPTUOUS ASIAN CHICKS?? Since your google-fu apparently sucks, I thought I'd help out a bit and I did a GIS for "cute girls" in Japanese. Wow, let me just say...you'd better keep the safe search on if you're at work. There's more naked girls peeing on stuff than you can shake a stick at. A rock hard, pasty...oh, never mind. I know I'd be virtually lynched if I didn't include the link, so here ya go, pervs. Obviously NSFW. |

America welcomes it's fat Japanese overlords. Circles, spheres and squares alike. |

glass_ibis: "Seafood" isn't meat? This is something I've always had an objection to. These farking vegetarians proudly declaring that "I don't eat meat, but I eat fish." Fish may not have eyebrows, but they are made of meat. In fact ALL seafood, other than kelp, is made of meat. Just because it isn't furry and cute, doesn't separate it from the animal kingdom that is made of meat. //Meat. |

My rebuttal is always, "Does it have a face? I'd probably eat it." /Sadly, this works better for culinary endeavors than it does online dating profiles... |

Alas, in common usage, "meat" is often used only to describe meat that comes from mammals, and separate terms are used to describe meat that comes from birds (poultry) and fish (seafood). A person who eats fish but no other kinds of meat would be more accurately called a pescetarian. |

Is this another one of those "American's are fat" threads? If so, hate to tell ya. It ain't the meat that makes us fat. Its the grain and the corn. |

It still looks like they eat more fruit than they do meat. And they eat over three times the amount of vegetables than meat. They don't eat much meat compared to the US where we use veggies as a garnish for the ol' porterhouse or count the lettuce on a Big Mac as a "serving" of veggies. (Almost forgot the pickle!) I mean, 80 grams of meat isn't even 3 ounces. They don't eat much cheese, so I basically look at this as buying a dollar burger, throw away everything but the patty and load the rest of my plate with veggies and an apple - and that's all I eat for the whole day, every day. I'm looking forward to my 2.8 oz steak! I have a friend that had to retire cheap, so he bought land out in the middle of nowhere and went off grid. He raised rabbits for his meat source and heat, (they put out a lot of BTU's), After about a year his doctor was getting concerned; the doctor saw a protein/fat deficiency even though my friend said he ate meat every day. When he found out it was rabbit it made sense - rabbit is too lean to live on apparently. Bacon? |
