I still have a stuffed lobster (as in stuffed animal) that I slept with as a child. I've lost or forfeited damn near everything when I had wild hairs grow in my ass and decided to split for Paris or San Francisco or even just across town - but for some reason I still have this stupid stuffed lobster.

Sorry, gents. As someone who's bred crayfish for the last 10 years, that's a pre-molt injury. Crustaceans are bi-lateral. If it were genetic, it would've been on both sides, or adversely affected the left claw. Most likely: This guy was an old school balla, and got in a lot of fights where his claw was partially crushed multiple times just a couple months before molting. They regenerate limbs, and the injuries registered as a declawing to the tissues, so each injury told his body to grow a new claw and leg.
