I'm not surprised by this. My daughter is 16 and this is the case for her.

The one that makes me cringe is "with regards to" rather than "in regard to." As in "With regards to the accused serial killer..."

Of course the younger ones are more likely to judge spelling and grammer. They have not yet experienced years of berating and name-calling resulting from caring about sentence structure, spelling, and at least a modicum of intelligence.

Give them a few years and they'll be forced to degrade to our low level of idiocy.
