Nature Spirals: O keeps on showing the world how much he earned that Noble Peace Prize. Technically, he had it wrapped up even before becoming president as the voting was done before hand. However, I fully support using drones to take out terrorists. Yes, there will be casualties -- there always are in war, but you need to break an egg to make an omelet. If the Middle East is to ever get better (which is a long shot) it will need to remove elements that made it get so bad in the first place. It's the reality of war. But he never really earned the peace prize, to bring it back to your original comment. |

Wow. This is new. I was used to see these signs with "BUSH" on them, but having Obama's name on them is something I haven't seen before. ![]() (original) |

EkimProx: It's the reality of war. But he never really earned the peace prize, to bring it back to your original comment. I agree. That was probably premature. He mainly got it for being elected and putting an end to the disastrous Neocon policies of his predecessor. One shudders to think how the US would be doing foreign policy wise, with McCain or Romney in charge. |

If the Middle East is to ever get better (which is a long shot) it will need to remove elements that made it get so bad in the first place. I agree. Ground assaults against entrenched paramilitary guerrilla forces have never gone well for the attacking force. Let's keep the majority of our soldiers out of harms way, and just keep some ships and a few bases with some planes and drones around the area, along with plenty of CIA and intelligence operatives who can suss out who and where the bad guys are. When we find one, or when someone with an agenda that runs counter to ours gets too powerful, handle it with a drone strike. |

Obama did more to fight terrorism in general and Al-Qaeda in particular in one term than Bush, or any other Republican, could have accomplished in 8 lifetimes. |

Yes, but we haven't started any pointless quagmires compared to his predecessor so that means that Obama is a failure foreign policy wise. |

kregh99: Obama did more to fight terrorism in general and Al-Qaeda in particular in one term than Bush, or any other Republican, could have accomplished in 8 lifetimes. You mean in terms of the drone strikes he swore he would stop, then yes you are correct. He has launched more than bush did in 8 years. 8 lifetimes? What are you, ten? |

TheOther: Sheik Khalid bin Abdel Rehman al-Hussainan, who was also known as Abu Zaid al-Kuwaiti That's a lot of names...just how many people got killed? Abu Zaid al-Kuwait just means Uncle Zaid the Kuwaiti. Sheik means boss, it's a title not a name. Dunno what al-Hussainan means, but it might be a title or a place name as well. |

Mrtraveler01: He He should have politely turned it down. In any case -- while I admit I haven't paid attention to the details -- how are the drone strikes any different from some commandos going in? Is it assumed they'd inflict less collateral damage? If so, only at the cost of more dead commandos. War sux, and inevitably innocents die. That's why you don't get into unnecessary wars (ahem), and you wrap up the necessary ones in less than 11+ years. In the mean time, it's wabbit season. Deal with it. Just sayin' |

These drones are what they call a "disruptive technology" in Silicon Valley. Kinda like online stores disrupt the book retailing business. The drones are disrupting the military-industrial complex. This war is dirt cheap. We don't need the Pentagon any more. The CIA can get'er done for almost nothing. |

Not that the Earth is not a better place with him lying a few fathoms down in the persian gulf, but it would have been much better, both politically and morally, to take him alive, make the coont stand trial, and let him rot in a very small box for the next 20+ years. How many libs exactly are we talking about here? Or are you just a moron? |

bronyaur1: How many libs exactly are we talking about here? I suppose that depends on whether this group of people is significantly representative of "libs" or not. Does the left generally dislike Obama's drone policies, and these marchers are simply the loudest and most visible? Or do these protesters find themselves opposed against the majority of their fellow "libs"? (original) I wish someone would take a survey and find out because I have no idea. |
