| ZAZ I know I prefer my 13 year olds with bigger boobies. I mean, to look at, not touch. I mean, to look at when nobody else is looking at me. I mean, I have to go do some work now. |

I can't believe how sexist that card is. Hallmark assumes that boyfriends are only good for giving diamonds and rubies. Apparently, if you aren't a rich guy who hands out precious stones, you just aren't worth talking about. It makes me sad to think of all of those young boys who have their self image shaped by such stereotypes. |

Oh look, Twitter is outraged over nothing again. |

| Because People in power are Stupid Correction they'd have a "rich boyfriend" because a guy is only desirable if he has money |
||
| EvilEgg Well, I can't really argue against that. |
||
DanZero ![]() Just a few more years and they might get bigger |

| Solty Dog You know what cards I hate. The one with a half naked guy on it, talking about his "package", "yule log", or "stocking stuffer" They are sexist and do not belong with the decent cards. |

So Hallmark is in trouble why? Because they told the truth? |

HBK: So Hallmark is in trouble why? Because they told the truth? I don't believe they admitted to being sexist farkwads. Got a link? |
||
| Elandriel The card is older than the intended audience by now... |

FTA: 'This card was produced by Creative Publishing prior to Hallmark Cards acquiring the company in 1998,' read the statement by David Dean, managing director of Hambledon Studios, a subsidiary of Hallmark UK 'We are as surprised and horrified as anyone else to have discovered that there are still copies in circulation. 'The card has not been produced for over 15 years and would never pass our own strict guidelines of taste and appropriateness. We would like to assure all our customers that we will do everything in our power to track down remaining copies.' Get over it people. |

TFA: hallmark bought a company that stopped printing the card 15 years ago. Shame on you hallmark! |

| buzzcut73 whidbey: NotMyAlt: TFA: hallmark bought a company that stopped printing the card 15 years ago. Shame on you hallmark! Because blatant and uncalled-for sexism has a statute of limitations. The point is, Hallmark never produced the card. They acquired the company that did produce it a few years after that company stopped producing the card in question. So, to review, the card is sexist, it is also in pretty poor taste in general, however, it is in no way Hallmark's fault. |
||
| Honest Bender I thought I'd share my girlfriend's reaction: Me: "Listen to this." *reads card* Her: "That's pretty funny! They're pissed off over that?" Me: "Ya." Her: "It's just something on the internet. What's the big deal." Me: "No, it's a hallmark card." Her: "What!" *This is an outrage!* /Then I laughed at her hypocrisy. |

So, to review, the card is sexist, it is also in pretty poor taste in general, however, it is in no way Hallmark's fault. If they acquired the company, then they do have a degree of responsibility, if anything, to recall any existing cards and to dish out a little in PR to make up for it. They are not off the hook, if that's what you're trying to say. |

Yes, actually, it does. And it was made by a company later bought by Hallmark. /Used to think 13 year olds with big boobies were sexy. //When I was 12. |

| SoothinglyDeranged whidbey: NotMyAlt: TFA: hallmark bought a company that stopped printing the card 15 years ago. Shame on you hallmark! Because blatant and uncalled-for sexism has a statute of limitations. Seeing as you are still missing it. Hallmark did not print these. They bought the company years after the card had stopped being printed. If you want to be pissed off about it at least yell at the right people, and consider working on your reading comprehension. |

whidbey: NotMyAlt: TFA: hallmark bought a company that stopped printing the card 15 years ago. Shame on you hallmark! Because blatant and uncalled-for sexism has a statute of limitations. How is the card sexist? It's actually somewhat truthful and mildly humorous. And yeah - I think I'm going to let Hallmark off the hook on this. It's a card they didn't even produce. |

To do any less is condoning their behavior. |

Finally a card that summarizes a girl's future. 1. Look pretty. 2. Wait for a man to take care of you. 3. That's it, you are practically property. |

The Jami Turman Fan Club: Because blatant and uncalled-for sexism has a statute of limitations. Yes, actually, it does. And it was made by a company later bought by Hallmark. Actually, I'm seeing quite a bit of apology for the sexism right now, so it's still ongoing. SoothinglyDeranged: Seeing as you are still missing it. Hallmark did not print these. They bought the company OK. This is getting dumb. Yes, they BOUGHT the company. That means they are now RESPONSIBLE for the product they acquired. Happy Hours: How is the card sexist? It's actually somewhat truthful and mildly humorous. And yeah - I think I'm going to let Hallmark off the hook on this. It's a card they didn't even produce. See above. And you really can't be that blind as to what constitutes such a blatantly sexist tone. |

Hallmark didn't make the card, the card is 15 years old and was made by a company that Hallmark later bought. But if you get your information from the Daily Mail, then you're probably not into things like 'facts', so I'm wasting my time. /dey sound smart coz dey is english |

whidbey: OK. This is getting dumb. Yes, they BOUGHT the company. That means they are now RESPONSIBLE for the product they acquired. The card was last printed before Hallmark bought the company, so what you just said is stupid and wrong. |

I've pretty much explained three times now that Hallmark has a responsibility since they bought the company. Who's going to go for a 4th? |

This thread suffers from a dearth of photographic demonstrative evidence. Also, I'm more offended at the message that a girl should only seek to impress men with stacks of cash. That's how strippers are made. That I have anything against single moms. |

No, because putting this all on hallmark is like my neighbors blaming me for crap the previous homeowners did. I realize the subtle difference in that some of those same employees may be around. Halmark made it clear that this wasn't ok and never did fit their standard. End of story. |

No, it's blatant sexism, and I don't believe anyone over at Hallmark, or for that matter, the company that used to produce those cards have actually copped to as of yet. I was hoping you'd have a link to that effect. Never mind. |

Making that card is exactly the same as child rape. The men involved shoud be sent to prison for life and registered as sex offenders. I was nearly raped once, so you can't argue against me. |
