| Dear Consumerist: Because I didn't know how to block Google ads and didn't do an ounce of research before making my purchase, I overpaid $390 for tickets to see Elf. What should I do? |

| Jackson Herring Submitter was so eager to get involved in the "consumerist bad" circlejerk, they didn't even read the article. |

| Gig103 FTFA: Yes, fine print declares those top results to be ads, and they're on a pale yellow background instead of a white one. When Consumerist mocks your ineptitude, just unplug your computer and move to a compound in Montana. |

||
| Because People in power are Stupid The question is -if you felt it was worth the ticket price at $390 does it make it worth less to you knowing that other people paid less? In other words does it detract from the performance? No, then enjoy the show. |

If you're concerned enough to e-mail consumerist, shouldn't you have been concerned enough to click a few more links to do some price comparison prior to buying? |

Actually this just seems like normal ticketmaster charges to me. ( The prices mentioned in FTA not on the headline ) |

| Satanic_Hamster Krymson Tyde: I'd gladly pay $390 to see Elf today. [i232.photobucket.com image 300x233] Man, I'd pay that as well to bring Dio back from the dead. Twice that if he went on tour with Ritchie Blackmore again. |

Ticket price on the E-ticket is $96, service fee of $10, for a total of $106. I paid $262, service fee $39.30, shipping $15. Without shipping I over paid $390.60. Okay, I can't follow the math. Where did he overpay $390? I can see about $40 of over pay. /I have bought box seats in the Winspear Opera House before. |

| Curious Quasar: That's not even a good Christmas movie. Hell, that not even a good Wil Ferrel movie. is there such a thing? TBS, TNT, FX one of them has been running a bunch of his stuff the last week or so. man is it bad. seriously horrible. without any redeeming features whatsoever. |

If your first thought is that it seems a little expensive (as the OP said), then why wouldn't you do some shopping around to see if you could get it cheaper? Typical Consumerist reader. |

| Curious drjekel_mrhyde: Somebody got Scrgoogled Link bing sucks donkey dick. it wouldn't have three users if MS didn't bundle it with all their other stuff. it's the IE for the 21st century. what really annoys me about bing is the way MS has it set as the default in places you wouldn't expect it. there you are happily searching with google and by mistake you type in the address bar --- HA GOTCHA bing pops up. with crappy results i might add. |

Roger Waters THE WALL was playing in our city. My friends girlfriend told me she'd buy our tickets and I'd just have to pay her back. $100 bucks on Ticketmaster got you floor seats at the KFC Yum! Center She bought $97 tickets. We sat 2 seats from the very last row, ZZ, on the third tier. Those tickets were like $30 bucks. Never again... |

I never realized how bad the ads in a Google search where until I got burned. I got as far as the bold before I gave up on this guy. And what scottydoesntknow pointed out above only makes it so much worse. |

highendmighty: Quasar: That's not even a good Christmas movie. Hell, that not even a good Wil Ferrel movie. There is no good Will Ferrell movie appearance in anything ever. His best performance was Megamind. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy!! Yeah for the most part he's just a silly character that SHOULDN'T be a title role. I mean, Monroe in Too Close For Comfort was a memorable, endearing character- but I wouldn't watch a Monroe-based movie. |

Bad Santa is the greatest xmas movie. Oh and people at work get burned by google ads too because they don't pay attention. Some lady looking for Netgear support paid $40 for a guy to use teamviewer and "fix" the problem. Another guy was having problems with Kaspersky so I told him get the Kaspersy removal tool. Another $40 and some Indian guy claiming his computer has hundreds of errors. |
