I told my pal I wouldn't visit NYC with a large postion of the population having herpes.
Most of them get it from being young, and drinking, engaging in promiscious activities.
Yeah, that would be everyone in the food service sector.

Holy shiat. Well it's basic statistics. They have a large poor black population, and the gheys. Most people get Hep C from drug use though, regardless of it being listed here as an STD stat. Same goes for HIV if you are straight. Hep B you can vax, so NYC needs to get on that.

On the topic of pop, not that I am a big consumer anymore, I've switched to the Hecho en Mexico variants, which feature sucrose rather than fructose, and I seem to be a lot healthier. This was an experiment, I never bought the arguments of the glucose hatas, but speaking empirically and anecdotaly, I feel way better, I've lost weight, and am experiencing a much better time on the crapper.

Health is improving in NYC. There are a lot more people having to run long distances to chase after their stolen I-Phones and tablets.

I don't think it should be assumed just because the Board is now involved in diet-oriented health initiatives that they are any less concerned with other aspects of public health than before.

Bullshiat. It's America's Sodom and Gomorrah, run by billionaires and managed for tourists.

Also, it's way easier for Bloomberg to get behind something like a ban on large sodas (yes, Americans are fat, and yes, there are consuming shiatty food to death) because it's about modifying consumer behavior - moulding individual responsibility through regulating consumption. But the STD problem, he's not going to touch that with someone else's dick, because it's not just about personal responsibility, it's about structural violence, inequality, and poverty. Someone should get their shiat together and map this STD study on to poverty maps of NYC. My hypothesis is that you will find much higher rates of all of these infections in poorer areas.

And nothing will be done about it, because rich and middle-class NYC needs the poor and marginalized NYC to survive. If the poor were actually being paid a living wage, life would cost too much for the more affluent New Yorkers to continue to live there. And then they'd all move out to Connecticut and Jersey, and then the lovely little tourist paradise of gentrification and M and M stores would collapse into the cesspool of crime and violence it was in the 1980s.

Actually, now that I think of it, ignoring the STD problem is just the other side of the regulating soda consumption proposal. There's no thought to why people are buying up huge sodas for low prices... just that the solution is to take away the sodas. How about instead of taking away the sodas, we look at why people consume shiatty, cheap food in the first place. It's because they're farking poor and have few other options. The same reason they fark like rabbits without protection.

Time to get rid of Bloomberg and vote Bloobmerg.

I read this to mean that each of the 33% was in the top quintile for multiple diseases, not necessarily the same diseases.

So one zip code may be in the top for AIDS, herpes, and syphilis, while another in the top for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and genital warts. Both contribute to the 33%, but neither are in the top 20% for the same diseases.
