| exick "They had to have had it either entered into the cash register or they had a [expletive] show button," Cunningham said. Well at least he has a sense of humor about it. The Cunningham family said they were not offended by the message and they plan to eat at the restaurant in the future. So...the only solution to a non-problem was to run to your brother/cousin/friend who works at the local TV news station and tell them about it? And then they did a story on it? Must be a slow news day in NH. |
||
| lowlandr I'm no [expletive], but I play one on TV. |

| kronicfeld Seems pretty obvious. "Shiat show." It was obviously intended to be an internal message/notation, not one on the bill, indicating that they were to be comped because the service they had(n't) received was a total "shiat show." The Cunningham family said they were not offended by the message and they plan to eat at the restaurant in the future. ALERT THE PRESSES |
||
| Marcus Aurelius I would have stopped believing at "comp 100 percent". |
||
| Relatively Obscure The Cunningham family said they were not offended by the message and they plan to eat at the restaurant in the future. Then shut up? |
||
| timujin Whoopty fark. It sounds like it was a shiat show, be amused they acknowledged it and get on with your day. You've got a funny story to tell your friends, not something that's worth getting offended over and running to the press about. |

But when the final check showed up, that's when they saw the rude message. and missed the part that said they weren't offended. |

The Cunningham family said they were not offended by the message and they plan to eat at the restaurant in the future. Soooooo why the fark tell us about it? |

They plan on eating there in the future? 30 mins to get seated, another 45 for food that wasn't yours, twice...why the hell would you go back to a restaurant that screwed the pooch that badly? / [expletive] that place |

Oh HOWARD!! ![]() /can't believe it took this long. |

So the staff acknowledged they made a debacle of their "dining" (it IS Friendly's for Christ's sake) experience, and bought them dinner. ![]() /hot |

Friendlies has good ice cream, with melted peanut butter. Hey, I'm just SAYIN'. |

If they were supposed to be comp'd, why would they get a check at all? That doesn't make sense. |

| Sim Tree Perhaps the owner was angry at the waitress? He might have assumed they wouldn't see the check, as it was comped and all. I've had waiters do that; take our order and then just go home for the day. I... still don't get what that's about. |

what kind of asshole waits in a friendly restaurant for over an hour without food ? I would have left after the first 15 minutes of not being waited on. These people seem to have WAY too much time on their hands |

Shiat happens. Sometimes everything goes wrong at once. Unless they're dicks about it, I usually don't hold someone's worst day against them. |

kindms: what kind of asshole waits in a friendly restaurant for over an hour without food ? I would have left after the first 15 minutes of not being waited on. These people seem to have WAY too much time on their hands People who have waited longer than 5 or 7 minutes tend overly exaggerate their wait. Lots of times they go in there with the intention of finding something wrong in order to get a free meal anyway. Of course Friendly's did fark up. |

Also, you then have proof the meal was paid for, even if it was comped, so if after you leave the restaurant can't turn around and claim you walked out on the bill and they didn't comp it. |

I'm totally hungry for more details. I really really really really hope they follow up on this article weekly and get this family on 20/20, The View, 60 minutes and The Today Show. |

I had a similar experience with a Boston Pizza restaurant. fark those guys. I didn't even want to go there but apparently once you are older than 40 you need to start going to chain restaurants because new experiences are scary and I have some older members of the family visiting. |

I must say, I don't what the word "show" would be doing at the bottom of a check with a naughty word there. |
||
| Walker This is what happens when you read a censored news story about something censored. Prudish mainstream media. Replaying footage showing 3000 people being killed on 9/11 over and over = fine. Showing a word? AWWWWWWWWWWWW HELL NAW! WE CAN'T SHOW THAT! PLEASE, THINK OF THE CHILDREN! |
