Water levels dropping doesn't mean that there are fewer dangerous locations. It means that what was previously dangerous is now dry land and what was previously safe has become a danger. The water is shallower which means the shipping channels are narrower and more underwater obstructions are closer to the surface. It also means that old charts are dangerously obsolete.

Deep water is safe water.

There is a mill ruin by me. George Atzerodt hid there after he got too drunk to participate in the Lincoln assasination. I was hiking there in the summer and found the mill stone. I would hve loved to have taken it but it was about 600 lbs.
