If you're considering fleeing on foot from the scene of a car accident, try to remember: law enforcement can usually track you down by your license plate or personal items you might have left in the car, such as your two children

Ha-ha! If I leave the kids, they'll have to stop and rescue them! They'll never catch me!

Wow, you seem to be correct! In this case, he did not get any felonies.

Several years ago, a lawyer hit a college student near the university around here, and apparently hit her so hard that he cut her in half and she obviously died. He fled the scene and turned himself in a few days later.

I suspect that he was high or massively drunk when he killed her, and that he chose to flee the scene to sober up before turning himself in.

As a consequence the city decided, in its infinite wisdom, to lower the speed limits on arterial roads near all schools to 35 at all times. Because he was obviously going the 40 that the speed limit allowed in order to kill the young woman...

FTFA: Police contacted the driver on his cell phone and eventually convinced him to return to the scene.

"We have your kids. Return now or the little one gets it."

Not my kid. He's two, and he doesn't know his name, his address, or his phone number. He only calls me "daddy", which is a nickname I taught him in case five oh picks him up and asks about me. He could give them an excellent demo of a lightsaber fight, but that's about it. They will never find me.

I thought cops had to cling to the side of your car, then shoot your passenger, or else you'd be get away scott free.
