LOL Rat Dispensers |

For some reason the phrase "rat dispensers" has me chuckling quietly to myself every few minutes.... the other part of my brain is working out the engineering of a rat dispenser - both "live" and "terriyake flavored" versons. |

The 7 needs to be extended. Really? Needed: ~ An Upper East/West side shuttle ~ Line into LaGuardia ~ Line connecting Bronx/Queens (megatunnel!!); connects to a cross-Bronx line Also get cracking on the Oyster Bay/Rye chunnel. And where are my damn hovercrafts! |

I believe extending the 7 line to Javits Center was part of the deal to sell off the land that MTA owned at the Hudson Yards. All the other suggestions are unbelievably expensive. I'm not sure how the UWS/UES train would even pass all the environmental laws (Digging a tunnel under Central Park would be a large fight) The sad thing is that while the MTA does get blamed for all the subway woes. The issues run way deeper, and the fact that the state has drastically reduced funding over the decades has been quite painful. The subway desperately needs to be upgraded and the current funding structure will not allow it to happen. And for the "2 Books/MTA is so corrupt" crowd. Yes, there are issues, but they are among the most transparent government agencies as all costs are available online. |

rocinante721: ~ Line into LaGuardia No. I do not want to do anything that encourages the survival of that wretched airport. The only thing LGA does well is follow the words "Well at least it's not as bad as". |
