Wildcat Mountain State Park is nice if you're ever in the neighborhood. And the Kickapoo River is a nice canoe float, not to mention funny to say out loud.

Westby's pretty cool. Ok maybe "interesting" is a better word. The creamery is a cooperative. The bank is a cooperative credit union. Westby is the kind of town that happens when an immigrant community practices rural socialism and builds a stable economy out of it. Decades later it's still pretty much the same. For better and worse. And then Viroqua is half old-timers and half hippies that never quit, who I suspect are just barely tolerated by the old-timers. So, naturally, Organic Valley's corporate HQ is right next door. And a billion Amish.

They are mostly Norskies so that explains the socialist bend (and Westby's high school teams being called the Norskies, we scrimmaged them every August for football) as well as the fact it's hard to find a decent bite to eat since Norwegians are about as skilled in cooking as Frenchman is at fidelity.
