Once the catheter identifies which part of the heart the dangerous rhythms are coming from, the ethanol dose can be delivered. This kills the area of the heart muscle causing the problem allowing the heart's rhythm to return to normal. ![]() Well, naturally. |

Pretty sure it's no longer considered 'neat' when you go mixing it with blood... |

| CruiserTwelve He's lucky he lives in the United Kingdom. In this country Obama's death panels would have let him die. |

Is it really neat that he had something done that's been happening for decades? Hey, guys. I heard there's this NIFTY new procedure where they shove a camera up your ass, and they can actually SEE Cancer, too. |

Pretty sure this isn't the first time this procedure has appeared on Fark. |
||
| Real Women Drink Akvavit I think it's neat dude is still alive. Despite all my "RAWR! Black metal rules!" and other assorted shenanigans, I really am a very tender hearted person inside. /shhh. don't tell! |

ArminiusTheGreat: Pretty sure this isn't the first time this procedure has appeared on Fark. I'm pretty sure they used in one of the last couple of seasons of House. |

Medical Grade Ethanol, subby. Not like they injected him full of Everclear. |

Heh, this is amusing, but I wonder how his immune system is going to handled dead tissue in the heart... As for the people above me talking about it being "neat," neat simply means that the ethanol wasn't diluted in anything before being injected into the blood stream. I use this term frequently with SE-HPLC work when I'm feeling too lazy to dilute my samples to the proper concentration and just use a formula I made in Excel to inject the sample "neat" but at the would have the same concentration as if I had diluted the samples to the proper concentration for the experiment. /pedantic, I know; //also, saying heart muscle is like saying 'organ that is a muscle, muscle', we know it's a muscle, we don't need to say it twice |

Typical fartbongo communist follower reply. Maybe you can take your head out of the kool-aid feed bag that the Dumbocrats have hung around your neck, and look to Jesus for the answers, rather than trying to give lazy Americans who live off the government tit "healthcare" so they can get their free baby murderings (Oh, you people call those abortions, because baby murder is too gauche, isn't it?) and they can get their illegal anchor babies to give them asylum while they steal jobs from Real 'Muricans. Just because you want to give up your guns to the goverment, and let him murder your grandpa doesn't mean anyone else does, you traitor. God is coming soon, and there will be a reckoning for you socialists. We came unarmed this time. |

This isn't the only time I've heard of alcohol used as medical treatment. It's the standard treatment for methanol poisoning. |
