I'm with you on this. They may not have a 100% hit rate, but some of them are pretty interesting and they can be pretty funny at times.

300K here in Minnesota =/= 300K in New York or California.

300k is pretty good no matter where you are. Obviously, how far that 300k will take you depends on where you're living. I could live much more lavishly on 300k in the middle of the country than I could, for example, in San Francisco. But 300k is plenty of money to be very comfortable with wherever you are.
