| thismomentinblackhistory FTA: His department lieutenant, Chris St. Cyr -- who is not an attorney -- served as prosecutor. The department's case appeared to be in trouble almost from the outset. No shiat. |

| Lukeonia1 This clerk, was she close to retirement? With a pension, perhaps? |
||
| Bathia_Mapes Lukeonia1: This clerk, was she close to retirement? With a pension, perhaps? She's worked there for over 30 years, so it's probably a safe bet to say she was. |

What do you want to bet Dalton Police Chief Mario Audit has a child or niece/nephew that needs a job? |
||
| bulldg4life
It's either a pension thing or a get rid of a democrat thing *checks article* 30 years and close to retirement Pension it is |
||
| DubtodaIll
Something tells me it was a recently installed camera that got that surveillance. |

At least they didn't check if she weighed the same as a duck. |

I'd sue the hell out of them. And how can a cop act as a prosecutor? |

It's like they needed a system of checking the accounts and making sure they were correct. If only there was a word for it. |

| KrispyKritter what, no rage from Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton? why not? hope she gets to sue the wallet out of Chief of Dicks for defamation of character or something else that sounds really impressive. |

Satanic_Hamster: I'd sue the hell out of them. And how can a cop act as a prosecutor? That's nothing. In the South the cop would act as the prosecutor, judge, jury, and executioner. |
||
| JerkyMeat A fund should be set up to pursue every legal action against the official who brought up these charges in order to destroy this individual in every single way a human can be destroyed in court. |

What's this 14 years shiat? Cop math? "It was not clear late Monday whether York, an elected town officer with more than three decades on the job, would return as Dalton's clerk or retire. She has been on leave since being charged." |
||
| BizarreMan Fourteen years without a blemish doesn't necessarily mean she's innocent. It might just mean she hadn't been caught yet. At the same time, going from video to trial without actually investigating whether there was any money truly missing from the cash drawer and attempting to find out what the video meant is gross incompetence. Video doesn't lie, but it doesn't necessarily tell the whole story. |

Under that logic, you're a child molester. It seems like there's a phrase we use in court in this country, something about being innocent until proven guilty. THIS IS WHY WE HAVE IT. Because cretins like Bizarreman want to presume that everyone's done something and just not been caught before now. |

Satanic_Hamster: I'd sue the hell out of them. And how can a cop act as a prosecutor? This. And where was the city council in all this? And how do you bring such charges in a municipal court. And who's the complaintant. This goes beyond qualified immunity - sue everybody, including the judge for not dismissing the complaint. |

He might be a child molester, he might not be a child molester, but there seems to be an awful lot of talk about him and child molesting, so I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that he is, indeed, a child molester. Why be half-safe? |

I haven't bothered to check but this is probably a one room courthouse housed in the city hall with a folding chair city council. And the police chief with his deputy/prosecuted are 50% of the police force. Also the only type of place where stealing 100 dollars from the coffers would be considered scandalous. |

"Audit admitted that he had not bothered to find out whether any money was actually missing from the town funds." If only there were a common process for doing just that. |

Hard not to come to the conclusion that someone was looking to save a little pension money by trumping up a charge. So, when does the clerk sue the town for wrongful arrest, prosecutorial misconduct, etc., etc., to pad that pension money with some sweet punitive cash? |

According to the Dalton NH (pop. 979) Town Report the Police budget for 2011 was only $41,700, with 4 total officers, and only 301 total calls all year. http://www.townofdalton.com/files/Do wnload/2011-Town-ReportUpdate.pd f |
