Just because you don't identify with their version of your religion doesn't mean they don't identify as LDS. You might think they're a bit weird, but you can't deny that they're taking it back to the days of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. Yeah, the Branch Davidians were a "Mormon splinter group" as well, IIRC. The only thing the Feds did wrong in that situation was waiting 51 days to burn the building down.
