| People are no longer waiting to get pushed in front of a subway in NYC, they're now laying on the tracks to sacrifice themselves to the subway gods |

| AlwaysRightBoy ginandbacon: I feel awful for the conductors in these situations. Can you imagine what that must be like? On my NJ Transit line this happens all the time. Really slows down the commute for us and usally scars most engineers for life. /have talked to one or two of them and it really does screw them up in the head when you see it and can't stop in time |

I don't think think I could go back to work after something like this. |

And according to the headline, that was "after climbing onto tracks and laying down on rails." They are bound and determined to use every variant of lie/lay they can get their grubby hands on. |

Can't wait for NFL Sunday when Bob Costas talks about banning trains. |

Hey if they offered a 50K bonus for everyone you took out with your train the "scarred for life" would quickly end., and the "So I waited just a second more to hit the brakes...and BAM 50K! She almost made it though...." would start. Call it a "trauma fund" to "assist conductors in dealing with trauma". |

If you lie down with subway trains you get up with mangled flesh. |

Pffff...if the subway gods want you, they send the rats |

| moothemagiccow Buy a gun, go home and shoot yourself. You'll inconvenience a few cops and the coroner, but it's the best we can do until suicide booths are made available. |
||
| Bathia_Mapes ginandbacon: I feel awful for the conductors in these situations. Can you imagine what that must be like? Indeed. Locally a guy committed suicide via train a couple of weeks ago. He laid down on the tracks and put his head in a position that guaranteed that the train would run over it. It wasn't just the conductor that had to deal with the aftermath, but there were two people that tried to get him off the tracks without success. |

If we made a blood sacrifice to the Red Line in DC do you suppose it would run any better? |

The post in the comments from the alleged cousin of the girl is enlightening. Apparently this happened because blacks think they deserve handouts, and therefore did not help the victim. (Have they learned nothing from 9/11) |

Yeah, the snark is part of what FARK is for, and that's cool, but suffering from major clinical depression myself (medicated), I just wish she'd gotten the help she needed. Damned shame. |

this only makes the news now because of the recent murder. Sad fact is, this happens nearly weekly on the NYC subway, but its not often covered. |

Is it so difficult to install a barrier between the platform and the trains? They have those in civilized countries. C'mon America. Catch up. |

LemSkroob: this only makes the news now because of the recent murder. Sad fact is, this happens nearly weekly on the NYC subway, but its not often covered. My neighbor married a transit worker from Brooklyn who had hundreds of stories about seeing 'crispy critters' being scraped of by the 'pooper scooper'. Most of the time they were prostitutes who were strangled and tossed onto the third rail. |

If someone is going to kill themselves, they would just find another way of doing it. Unfortunately. The main problem is that this country has a ways to go to help those that need help with mental issues. |

Not if it's high enough as all of ours are. |

If that's what passes for journalism now, there's going to be a mass shooting at the nearest newspaper office. Then someone can report that they all dyed. |
