So is he pissed because she drove him to drink or because she didn't drive him to drink?

No, he's pissed because she didn't drive him AFTER he drank

Getting divorced at 78 has to be a hell of a strange experience. I don't know whether it's a good thing (your last few years will be peaceful and untroubled by conflict with your spouse) or a bad thing (your last few years alone are without a partner).

This clip of Sam Donaldson going ape shiat from the 1980s is always a favorite. He's had a dark side for a long time....

Oh, please. Somewhere there's a much younger golddigger who is looking for exactly this opportunity.

Probably just a tax dodge, they'll do better filing singly.

More likely she yanked that godawful rug off his dome and tossed it out the window.

I wonder what the hump stroll from the bedroom door to the bed looks like. When does he take off his hair piece, grind it seductively over his loins then toss on top of the lampshade?

I think I have to go vomit now.

No doubt there is -- but after 29 years anyone is going to have a hell of an emotional connection that you're not going to duplicate with some new person in the time you have left. I mean, I've been in multi-year relationships with awful, awful women, and even decades later I still miss them sometimes. Not in the sense of wanting to be with them, but in the sense of missing the connection to another human being (good or bad). I'd bet that with 5-10 years to go at best you're going to have some pretty serious feelings of disconnection. That's what I was getting at -- he'll never again know what it's like to have that with a partner.

DUIs cause marital problems. Marital problems cause DUIs.

Vicious cycle.

I like how he has a lot more "hair" now than he did in the '80s.

Your odds of getting a ticket or into an accident increase dramatically when you're having emotional problems. I'd guess this is a symptom, and not a cause.

Was he arguing with a Secret Service agent in that clip?  What's the context?

My folks live up there and this didnt go public til almost a month after it happend. From what they told me he was visiting his girlfriend in the hospital in DE and went to go get her something to eat. While he was out he had a few drinks and wanted to bring her a bottle of wine as well. Then he sideswiped a car on the way back to the hospital and got his DUI. Dunno if its true but thats teh scuttlebutt going around lower slower Delaware.

"They remain on good terms with each other and are hopeful they'll be able to resolve their economic issues," lawyer Sandy Ain said.

Having to divide millions is a lot easier than trying to assign who gets what debt.
