No doubt there is -- but after 29 years anyone is going to have a hell of an emotional connection that you're not going to duplicate with some new person in the time you have left. I mean, I've been in multi-year relationships with awful, awful women, and even decades later I still miss them sometimes. Not in the sense of wanting to be with them, but in the sense of missing the connection to another human being (good or bad). I'd bet that with 5-10 years to go at best you're going to have some pretty serious feelings of disconnection. That's what I was getting at -- he'll never again know what it's like to have that with a partner.

DUIs cause marital problems. Marital problems cause DUIs.

My folks live up there and this didnt go public til almost a month after it happend. From what they told me he was visiting his girlfriend in the hospital in DE and went to go get her something to eat. While he was out he had a few drinks and wanted to bring her a bottle of wine as well. Then he sideswiped a car on the way back to the hospital and got his DUI. Dunno if its true but thats teh scuttlebutt going around lower slower Delaware.
