If I remember correctly there was a Darwin Award nominee who was driving a van down a long mountain road when the brakes went out. So, he abandoned his friends and jumped out the door. His friends eventually got the vehicle under control and brought to a safe stop. No one was injured. The guy who jumped out, however, died. |

I heard that there was a simmilar accident in Tennessee but the two guys riding in the open bed died in the crash because they couldn't get the tailgate open. |
