The latest online trend among teens continues to be "Teens are dicks to their peers"

My sympathy is waning for people who continue to take webcam pictures of themselves, upload them, and then become upset that they aren't being used in the manner originally intended (whatever THAT could be).  Using social media requires personal responsibility that these teens don't seem to have.

Another article defending exhibitionism while condemning voyeurism.

Sucks even more when it autoplays the commercial and then when that finally stops it tells you the featured video is not authorized for viewing in your country.

The pics, at least the ones that they had in the accompanying video, were all relatively positive.

Don't dress like a slut.  Look at my eyes, not my boobs.  Don't wear two bras at the same time, you look stupid.  Bullying is bad.

I'm not sure what the problem is here.

FTA:  Sexuality educator and author Dr. Logan Levkoff told said that until parents step in, teens will continue to use technology to taunt others anonymously.

"It's our responsibility to teach young people not to judge anyone else," he said.

He came across as very feminine in the video. Like he was one 'Bow-chicka-wow-wow' away from a full on Penthouse Forum encounter.

And what's with the lawyer's name 'Aftab"?  It's sounds like an acronym...

... anonymously. On facebook. Or, at minimum, as someone on a specific list of people you've allowed to access your facebook.

All right, I'm going to have to question the credentials of the "doctor" that either doesn't know the meaning of a common English word or has never encountered facebook in the course of becoming a PhD or MD specializing in educating teenagers about things.

I think it is a matter of influence. Teens are minors and are still immature, so they just imitate what "role models" they can see. Their elders have a lot be responsible for. Raging hormones, passionate affections, and strong sexual urges cannot be undermined.

Remember the female teacher part-time cheerleader who enjoyed boning a minor, and a lot of other situations where adults caused the corruptions of youngsters.

I got a ban whilst doing this to the girlfriend of Tatsuhiko here on Fark a couple years ago. He had a couple pictures of his obese girlfriend in his profile, and I made a couple speech bubbles for her a la lolcats . "The fridge was full, but I eated all of it!1" Either he was trolling the thread, or was just acting retarded, but he was drawing the ire of several Farkers whilst proudly displaying an embarrassing picture in his profile.

Do people who post profoundly stupid things deserve to be captioned against their will? Probably not, but when you inflame people with ammunition, don't be surprised when they use it against you.

Bullying makes you a better person, how will you know how to deal with psycho bosses or the police? I believe "participation" awards are the reason kids kill themselves the first time they get dumped by their girlfriends or boyfriends.

I never had any sympathy for these idiots in the first place. "My nude photos are appearing in inappropriate places!" she cried. "I don't see how that's possible! There should be laws against that!" But until the law lets us jail stupid people, you'll just have to put up with it, darling, say I.

Well, they live in an age where the media is constantly dumping an avalanche of 'messages' on them. Telling girls they have to look sexier, sexier, sexier, etc etc until you have 13 year old girls walking around with their tits popping out of their shirts, slathering on makeup, turning themselves orange and posting duckface pics all over the internets.

This is just the way some girls are using to put their own message out there, one that happens to run counter to that one. Let's not pretend like all the influences encouraging girls to act in the ways that are being 'shamed' aren't just as harmful if not more so.

People don't seem to have any farking common sense about this anymore. Like most things, shame is something that exists on a spectrum. Some shame is good, healthy in the way pain is, because it tells you that you just did something you should stop doing. Yes, excessive shaming is bad, but that doesn't mean no one should ever tell anyone to stop doing anything, ever.

This is the logic that leads people to believe that because beating your children is bad, you should never discipline them or say no to them ever, and it's perfectly okay to let them scream their heads off every time you go out in public.

OK, so my first rule used to be that anything you record of yourself will be uploaded to the Internet, and if this makes you feel uncomfortable and/or would cause problems then the proper response is to turn off the damn camera.

It seems as though I'm going to have to add that it will be uploaded straight into the hands of photoshoppers looking for the latest potential comedy gold.

Whilst I partially agree that sticking a random photo of yourself up on MyPlusBook and then getting upset when someone randomly takes it for a joy ride is... well WTF were you expecting? Did you not READ the terms of service? Did you understand the big god damn words? If you didn't WTF did you think you were doing!

If someone were to upload an image to a site and then later find it had been taken for a joyride by a 3rd party in total breach of the TOS they'd originally agreed to... I could understand getting pissy and sending DMCA's.

Kids, learn to watermark your images just enough so that some asshat with Photoshop's life becomes sufficiently more difficult to use your image than it is find another one kinda similar and use that instead. Because they'll go off and rip someone else off.

I guess not posting pictures of yourself (or at least not posting pictures that can be seen as soliciting attention) is too much trouble. As is telling kids to, you know, not post attention-seeking pictures of themselves.

Much easier to post pictures, see them used in a manner other than what you intended, then whining about how people are mean.
