Sure it is. I was accepted to all the major universities in Florida, including U.F., and Miami, as was everyone I went to highschool with who chose to go to FSU. It has several great programs.

Caveat: This was in the 90's and U.F. was easier to get into back then. But I still chose to go to FSU for what I was doing, as I didn't base my college on things like what football team I liked.

Odd. Usually you have to go to Florida on Spring Break to get the clap.

Slow news day in Tallahassee? Apart from politics, that's par for the course. Makes it a lot more liveable than other Florida cities which generate most of the "Florida" tags on FARK.

Funny, I thought students brought those souvenirs home from college towns.

When I applied for college in 1967, I got accepted at FSU, U. of F and U. of South Florida (Tampa/St. Pete.).  I went with FSU as they had the better Classics Department.

OTOH, FSU  back then WAS a big party school and getting laid was not all that hard to do in the late Sixties/early Seventies there.  It was also ridiculously easy to get booze if you were underage.  I didn't get carded until, honest to God, the very day I turned 21.
