| Sybarite Leon County Health Department Administrator Homer Rice says he's noticing a pattern in the rates of sexually transmitted diseases in college students. |
||
| Because People in power are Stupid That's because the chicks that they knew in High School that didn't go to college have a new career. |

I saw this on the local news last night and remarked to Mrs. Dream half jokingly "Watch this end up on Fark". Stay classy Tallahassee! |

This town is a college town - population shrinks by nearly half during the summers. Of course there will be an increase in rates of STDs! And colds, flus, midnight Krispy Kreme customers... |
||
| Smoky Dragon Dish Who comes up with this shiat? |

FTA: Rice says that the most prevalent STD among those of college age (15-24) is Chlamydia, and Leon County ranks above the state average for the disease. Yeah, I'm sure there are lots of brilliant 15-year-olds in college who are bringing STDs back home. |

"We would like to see people in a monogamous relationship," Rice said... Sound advice. |

If Chlamydia is all they got, they should consider themselves very lucky. Bet Mom & Dad are delighted to be spending thousands in tuition for a kid that's too stupid to use a condom (or insist one be used.) |

Stay classy Tallahassee! *Tallatrashy /my friends who couldn't get into UF and went to FSU instead all call it that //FSU is also nobody's first choice Sure it is. I was accepted to all the major universities in Florida, including U.F., and Miami, as was everyone I went to highschool with who chose to go to FSU. It has several great programs. |

Caveat: This was in the 90's and U.F. was easier to get into back then. But I still chose to go to FSU for what I was doing, as I didn't base my college on things like what football team I liked. |

Odd. Usually you have to go to Florida on Spring Break to get the clap. |

Slow news day in Tallahassee? Apart from politics, that's par for the course. Makes it a lot more liveable than other Florida cities which generate most of the "Florida" tags on FARK. |

Speaking of STD's...any Farkers up for some drinks in the Ft. Myers Beach area January 19th or 20th? Maybe at Lani Kai? |

I guess even college can't teach people to use condoms. /wrap it before you tap it |

Funny, I thought students brought those souvenirs home from college towns. |
||
| Aulus When I applied for college in 1967, I got accepted at FSU, U. of F and U. of South Florida (Tampa/St. Pete.). I went with FSU as they had the better Classics Department. OTOH, FSU back then WAS a big party school and getting laid was not all that hard to do in the late Sixties/early Seventies there. It was also ridiculously easy to get booze if you were underage. I didn't get carded until, honest to God, the very day I turned 21. |
