My cousin got his puppy from a prison program like this. They socialized and did basic obediance and then went back to the rescue where he was adopted.

Aww..nice story. I have heard of these programs. They do dogs and cats and horse in various facilities, and it really seems to help.

While it is possible to ski down the stairs on your shin and calf,I do not recommend it. It hurts. And then you have to sit with ice, and it is too cold out there for that! Brrr!

Tigerose - stair skiing is never a good idea. At least yours was an accident - my feet are screaming at me right now after 7.77 miles of walking between work and the treadmill today.

Ouch! Glad you weren't severely injured.

Some years ago I hurt my left shoulder when going down the stairs in our apartment. I missed a stair and grabbed the rail to keep from falling. Didn't fall, but my shoulder was sore for a long time.

When I was first learning Telemark skiing, I tried to do it on my butt because I was not used to the technique and kept falling down my butt seems to totally dig skiing. That hurt, but I'm sure not nearly as bad as your skiing adventure. So don't do that again, mmmmkay?

Nope - he's scared of the noise. He used to come and investigate the treadmill after I was done, but now he's used to it, he just goes to another room.
