| raerae1980 There's some bad mojo with that family. |

| WTF Indeed
A random murder charge for an accident in 2010. Sounds like some judge is making lots of bribe money. |

| PC LOAD LETTER The family that slays together stays together |

That family tree has red flowers. |

raerae1980: There's some bad mojo with that family. I'd be careful with what you say about a family that does murder for sport. |
||
| ZAZ "Culpable homicide" is not murder. It's what we would call manslaughter or motor vehicle homicide in America. |

South African culture can be a tad on the macho side. This is greek tragedy material. |

Lets hop on the Blame the parents bandwagon and kick some arse! Lets show them you don't have to be black to be a bad parent! |

It might be more efficient to just take the innocent to trial. |

Rumor is its the prosecutions retaliation for dirt on the lead prosecutor |
||

Wonder if this is just payback. With all the murder charges I think Pistorius is Afrikaans for "Zimmerman" |

HOUSE PISTORIOUS "We can run, You cannot hide." Would be their crest words if this was game of thrones. Seriously though, South Africa? The entire continent of Africa is engaged in tribal/militia/guerrilla combat throughout many of its countries, that lawlessness extends even to its most populated cities, regions and areas. Hell, most folks of (tribal) Africa think that they can prevent/cure aids by rubbing magic berry juice on them! OI ROIGHT ROIGHT GOOD ON YE, BRITAIN! SOUTH AFRICA IS A BOLLY OL GOOD TIME FOR bringing all your tea and crumpets into a perpetual war zone and trying to improve on a evolutionary time capsule. |

WTF Indeed: A random murder charge for an accident in 2010. Sounds like some judge is making lots of bribe money. It was 2008 and was the result of a motorcyclist running into his car. Charges were filed and then dropped. So the refiling of charges at this time is a bit suspect. |

transplendent: South African culture can be a tad on the macho side. This is greek tragedy material. The Netherlands must have evicted some of their hyper-religious & criminal population back in the 1600's, that's the only thing I can think of to partially explain this. / any parallels with the United States? |

I like to imagine the Pistorious murders as a flock of crows. |

Shrugging Atlas: Judge at the next hearing: "Will anyone with a pending murder conviction please leave the courtroom?" Judges walks out. "However, I'm not going to punish you, because we're so short of judges at the moment, what with all of them emigrating to South Africa. I'm going tomorrow; I've got my ticket. Get out there and get some decent sentencing done. Ooh, England makes you sick. Best I can manage here is life imprisonment. It's hardly worth coming in in the morning. Now, South Africa? You've got your cat of nine tails, you've got four death sentences a week, you've got cheap drinks, slave labour and a booming stock market. I'm off, I tell you. Yes, I'm up to here with probation and bleeding psychiatric reports. That's it, I'm off. That's it. Right. But I'm going to have one final fling before I leave, so I sentence you to be burnt at the stake." |

Gyrfalcon: AliceBToklasLives: Is there anyone is South Africa NOT up on a murder charge? Only the victims. And let's see, the 39.5+ millions of people who live there and do not become a part of the annual 'murderers' statistic? I know you were both partly joking but the reality is that violence and crime has definitely gone up since the ANC took power almost 20 years ago, but now we also have factors like nearby Zimbabwe going down the tubes with lots and lots of starving migrants from there crossing the southern border on foot and running to South Africa because it is relatively wealthy and normal. There is still a lot to like about the place, especially if you WERE Oscar Pistorius: successful, young, rich, famous, and living in a secure compound, in a home with an excellent alarm system and three large dogs. He might have been trigger happy because he felt he was a target, but that aside, I know South Africans who live in homes with just the locks on their windows and doors to protect them and they are some of the most upbeat, funniest, and nicest people I've met. |
