  • Not this brand, but I have had this flavor combo. It was good.
  • Potato chip flavored ice cream seams to be missing a lot of the point of potato chips, the texture.  Now potato chips in the ice cream is another story.  I'm pretty sure Ben & Jerry's had a flavor at some point with potato chip chunks in it.
  • Ah, here it is.  The old Jimmy Fallon flavor.

    Late Night Snack
  • Next up: Chicken fat ripple.
  • I'm pretty certain that's not something I need.
  • Vanilla icecream with Fritos is pretty good.  The contrast between sweet and creamy/crunchy salty is awesome.
  • Last night I had what I think is the worst thing I've ever eaten.

Now, I think I've noted on here my weight loss more times then anyone cares to hear, but I'm down over 265 pounds. I've worked HARD, and I'm nearly at my goal - about 20 pounds left (though I'm finding my strength wavering, terribly.) I am trying to reintegrate some better versions of foods I've denied myself. So at Whole Foods last week I saw an Ice Cream called Wink. 100 calories a pint. 100! I mean, it's probably not great, but Halo Top is pretty good at 230... so it's on sale, I give it a shot.

This is without doubt the worst use of 100 calories I've had ever. I felt sad eating it. It didn't taste like ice cream. It tasted like what would happen if you poured a little coconut milk into a glass of water, froze it, then put it into a blender then froze that. It tasted like depression feels. It was mournful. Eating it felt like being in the putdown room of a kill animal shelter.

I have another of a different flavor to try one night.... I honestly don't know if I want to invest the calories. I might just taste it, confirm what I think I'll run into, then pitch it. 3.69 is not worth 100 calories of failure.

Get the good stuff and use tiiiiiiiiny scoops to portion. AFAIC, diet food isn't worth the calories.

Bah. If I can only have a tiny bit I'll skip it. One of my best strategies is bulk Big amounts that fill up with little calories. Green leafy veggies, rice, ect. Tiny amounts just mean I want more, and the fact that its there hurts.

And like I said, I found Halo Top, another diet pint ice cream actually fantastic (if you've tried it and found it icy - you didn't read the package. Let it sit out for 5 minutes, or give it 15 seconds in the Microwave.) Half a pint of one of the lower-calorie options of that, at about 130 calories, would have been preferable to the whole pint of Wink, which I found to be the first 20 minutes of Up, the  last half hour of Grave of the Fireflies, with Schindler's List in the middle.
