  • Well, not exactly a repeat, but we already saw the ads for Drizly, Saucy, Postmates, and Reserve Bar in this article (or rather, what is likely a paid promotion disguised as article):

and Minibar (and Drizly, et al.) were listed in this one:

However, Cocktail Courier and Fresh Direct are new.

  • Hard to believe, considering the professional drinkers in Wisconsin, but not allowed in Wisconsin, thanks Tavern League.
  • Most of this shiat is way, way too expensive compared to just making a trip and washing your hands.

unless you're an alcoholic, in that case I guess it makes sense.  Side note for any of the true drunks around here, how did you get to that point? if I catch a buzz on a weekend night, feeling like shiat the next day makes me not remotely interested in booze for a week or two.  I don't have a single drink during the week, so my best guess is that its the moderate 2-4 drinks a night that a lot of people do, progresses over a period of years and thats how you end up drinking way too much?

True Drunks are born not made. Alcoholism is mostly genetic

Simple.  A true drunk knows that if you feel like shiat the next day, the best - most instantaneous, guaranteed cure, is to drink more.  Hair of the dog.  Keep drinking, no hangover.  Of course, the problem with repeating this behavior makes one a true drunk.
  • Yeah, I got booze delivered tonight. I could have walked to the store and gotten it. But I had 75 dollars of groceries delivered anyway so clicking "add booze" and "add mixer" was just too easy.
  • I make my toilet wine at home. Thanks for the tip.
/If you live in a city, it's tons of them. I have a shiat load of their business cards
//And you could talk them down

  • You're supposed to be sober on the morning?

    The few of times I've used delivery made sense for me;

Had some friends over, a few more showed up and, unfortunately, we ran out of booze and no one wanted to risk driving to grab more booze.

While I keep a pretty well stocked bar, sometimes you run out of specific stuff and don't want to start mixing the alcohols. Have run into the situation where we're doing a certain cocktail night and have run out of the main spirit. We'd rather pay a few bucks more to enjoy the evening than to risk making a dash to the liquor store.

Sure, it may be due to poor planning, but I don't always know what I have on hand and what we may be in the mood for.

It's a convenience, and sometimes (not as a rule, of course) it's worth it.

    I am a weekend warrior. I don't get hangovers unless I have a minimum of 15 drinks.

Don't worry, I go I month here and there without a drop too. Gotta lower that tolerance from time to time.

Most heavy drinkers I know are fairly hangover immune.
  • Difficulty: not Wisconsin
