  • Great listen.  I'm a huge fan of the show, and have been thinking of those episodes lately.  Good on them for taking preemptive action.
  • Will (or has) Seinfeld pull theirs? Off to Hulu to find out

Yeah I thought that incident arose because Kramer spent too long tanning with butter on the roof? Maybe I'm confusing plotlines.

  • So... from what I saw, they pulled the two least troubling cases and left the one where J.D. inserts himself into a sexual fantasy he's conjuring between his black friend and his white colleague AS his black friend.

I'm thinking that the people sitting on the boards making these decisions might have misunderstood the problem with blackface...  It's probably worth revisiting what principles it violates and why it is morally hazardous before we just memory hole this and learn nothing.

They pulled all three cases... two happened in one episode.
  • It is farking shocking that a show as recent as Scrubs had blackface.

    /Never watched the show.

I've never watched Scrubs so I have no idea if they fall into the same category, but there's a handful of shows like 30-Rock that did it from the perspective of "we can do it if we show how racist it is", that have come around to the idea that maybe that wasn't as good of an idea as they thought at the time.
