The new one isn't coming out until next March? I knew everything's been delayed but damn. I saw the trailer months ago. I think I did anyway, I no longer have any concept of time.
That would be great if they hadn't torn down our drive-in to put up a big box store over a decade ago.
I miss that place. One of my first dates with my partner was there, back when we were teenagers. Ghostbusters II was the movie. I admit I was looking down her shirt almost as much as I was watching the movie.
To this day, I'll defend Ghostbusters II as a great movie.

I remember seeing the first trailer for The Flintstones what seemed like YEARS before it eventually came out Boy... was *I* disappointed!
My family and I saw Ghostbusters in theaters when it was re-released a couple years ago (30 years?) and we were the only ones in the theater. I assumed it would be packed (nostalgia). Nope. No one.
Nearest theater location for me is a 40-min. drive. Normally, this is the part where I exclaim "ROAD TRIP!" But, my state's kinda blown the whole "COVID Containment" thing.

This would be cool to go see, My first memory of seeing a movie in person was the Ghostbusters at a drive-in. My kids love the movie to, too bad the drive in is an hour away but its an excuse to get out I guess.
Tyrone Slothrop:The one that didn't try to replace a good script with ad-libbing?
I think the original had some ad libs. I think Rick Moranis ad libbed his weird monologue when he was possessed by Vince Glortho and was going on about slors and zuuls.
Thanks to autocorrect it took me three hours to write that post.
Colour_out_of_Space:MrBonestripper: There was a bad "Ghostbusters" movie? First I've heard of it....
There were two.
I want to like Ghostbusters 2 and there were a few good parts but it just didn't live up to the original. Bill was definitely not into it and really, there are almost no comedy sequels that work. Even most original comedies peak at about the half way mark (not Ghostbusters, it was great from beginning to end). Take Office Space for example. Hilarious but once they get to the actual heist it sort of fizzles out.
I'd say Christmas Vacation was a good comedy sequel but even it didn't live up to the original and not just because it was a PG-13 and didn't feature Beverley D'Angelo's boobs. Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey....ok. Wayne's World 2....it did have Christopher Walken. But as a rule comedy sequels don't work. I hope Ghostbusters: Afterlife does well.

I tend to agree. I'm thinking off the top of my head, Hot Shots 2 maybe? Not Naked Gun though. Those sequels were bad. Addams Family Value was pretty good. Fletch Lives?

Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.

There really aren't many good comedy sequels!
