And the world responds to the US SUCCESS

My dumbass family in Missouri drove down to Florida yesterday for a vacation. My cousin has an 18 year old kid, and she today is posting shiat about voting. Like would you send your winning Powerball ticket in the mail, no you wouldn't, and the same goes with voting by mail or some shiat like that. Powerball involves money, you cannot just send it in the mail and expect free money. My other cousin is a surgical nurse, and went too. Meanwhile I am avoiding people so my mom and grandmother doesn't get it. I have no idea why people are still travelling when people are farking dying, or ending up with damaged bodies from this.

    I don't get that cartoon.

There's no way in hell he could spell both Pittsburgh and Gettysburg correctly on the first try, nor does he have a clue what the Magna Carta was.

Wait, you're talking about an adult who can't figure out the key difference between cash and a ballot? Or are they just saying stupid shiat to troll the libs?
  • And the 'original tweet' is the least of it. That entire Twitter thread is a swamp of GOPer lies and stupidity. Pathetic excuse for a political party.

Actually it's super easy, barely an inconvenience. It's called the "positive test rate". If excessive testing really explained the increase, the percentage of tests that came back positive would drop because we'd be testing up more and more negative cases. But percent positive cases has gone up, meaning that we are not even keeping up with the increasing case load.

The USA wishes it had flare ups because that would imply that the pandemic had been brought under some sort of control in the first place.

Chuck, was it your intention to come here and show everyone your ass?

No one wants to see that "Property of Donald Trump" Tattoo that you got on your ass.

Nobody can prove Trump wrong, to him.
  • I stopped logging in to check my bank account. So now Im broke.

    That was easy.

No.  I'm talking about the issue of testing.  If the U.S. tests way more than other countries, then the U.S. is likely to show more cases.
  • KiwDaWabbit: SoupGuru: We elected the stupidest person we could find to lead our country. We elected the government we deserve, I guess.

I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty much in a state of mourning when Trump won. But if we have 90-100 million eligible voters choose to sit this out again, I'm gonna feel a lot more like we get what we get. I'm going to vote. F*ck anyone who doesn't.

I'd say the US is at the point where more is required. Voting alone is not enough. You need to get out there and convince others to vote

Anyone who is not actively out there sacrificing their time and money to protest, to campaign, to fight, or otherwise support the fight against fascism, in other words to be an actual agent of change, is complicit.

Lowering testing rates doesn reduce cases, it simply reduces testing accuracy.  You still have just as many infected.  The point he's making is moronic at best.

  • I think maybe I get it.

Bearing in mind, 45 is a very stupid man, who presumably believes the U.S. is inherently best at everything.

Maybe he thinks that in reality, the rates of coronavirus infection are actually the same everywhere in the world.  So he figures every country really has about the same number of people infected, and he doesn't even consider the measures other countries have taken that addressed the threat more effectively than the U.S.

Therefore, the only reason the U.S. total infected looks worse is because of testing finding those cases.  If every other country tested more, of course they would also find more cases.  So when he talks about other countries that can send their kids back to schools, he doesn't even understand that their conditions are different.

I guess.  I can't make sense of his spew any other way, and now I've spent more time thinking about it than he deserves.
  • Impossibly stupid. I don't think Trumped will catch on like Borked. There has to be a way to the complete ignorance to this idiot.
  • demonfaerie: My dumbass family in Missouri drove down to Florida yesterday for a vacation.

Speaking as a Floridian, anyone who vacations here this time of year is definitely a dumbass.
  • Almost nine months after he was told this was serious business he is still pretending it isn't.

    What is wrong with him?

They're concentrating on the real problem: some people are vandalising statues in the south.
  • It's a perfect encapsulation of GOP thinking in its entirety: If you don't it, it isn't there.
  • I'm not sure what to do with this talking point.  Like... I know it's there to make Trump look less dumb.  And the entire underpinning of the point is completely wrong.

But he seems to believe that more tests are a good thing, despite them making him look bad.

If this gets played wrong, he ends up doing everything he can to suppress test results, or worse, limit access to testing supplies.  Obviously, this makes him look even worse, but it "solves the problem".  And we've seen that this is exactly how Trump thinks about the world, over and over again.

So we got him to buckle and wave a mask around on the teevee.  WIN!

Anything we can do to make sure he doesn't screw the pooch on testing for all the wrong reasons?

I like it. He's convinced that his is the only correct response to the crisis, and can't understand why anybody else has a problem with it. It must be working in other countries so obviously it's not his fault.

Both maybe? I mean she graduated from a town with 700 people. Her dad is a very conservative firefigthter/EMT. Her dad also cheated my cousin a bunch of times, even while she was pregnant. So, she left him.
