  • that is sweet. All my dogs have been rescues. Well, except Sammy. I "inherited" him after my great-aunt died, and I had him for seven years before he died.

Angel just showed up, dragging a long chain behind her, and then it was embedded around her neck too, and padlocked shut and took bolt cutters to get off her. I never found out where she came from. The pound in town came and when I asked what they would do they said probably euthanize her right away because of the breed..she was a pit bull.
but I kept her and she became part of the family. Still miss her. Have two dogs, but she was special..oh hell..they are ALL special. all dogs.

This was after the chain came off when she first came to me. You can still see the wound is fresh around her neck. I took her to the vet the next day.
  • That was nice. I just vacuumed this room yesterday and it didn't do a damn bit of good.
  • Someone abandoned a pit puppy at the end of our road today.
I spotted her when I went out the gate to go to the grocery, she came right over to me, but I couldn't do anything with her until the return from town.

She wasn't around when I came back.
    Hope somebody nice rescues her.

I got a 8 month old pit bull rescue dog a few years back and all it wants is to kill all dogs and kids. Most mornings Loki craws in bed with me for huggles. I had to put an 8 foot fence up in the back yard because a 6 foot fence could not keep him in. I walk him every day but have to watch him closely the whole time because if he sees some one or another animal he will try to attack them.  Life with an out of control rescue pit bull is rough. I had to put ear drops in his ears last week and now both my arms are covered in big surgical pads from the wounds. I need some cheese, please, with all that whine.

The pits I helped rescue all were 100% trained - and I miss them.

But feel so glad I could be part of their freedom train.  :)

I couldn't have turned that sweet girl away, either.

I wish I could rescue them all.

It wasn't my funny, but the "al, hell, all dogs are special" brought a chuckle to me.
  • That was a very healthy looking stray, not sure that he really needed to be rescued. Hell, just providing him with some food and another puppy to play with may have been all he needed. Dog knew something was up with that net though. The instant they released it, he bolted. Damn, he's quick.

I have a cyberstalker. no joke.

It's not just fark. I know that.

and Angel was a she. She had multiple health issues. When I first took her to the vet, was told that limp she had was from a broken leg that had never taken in to get treated and then later on I found out she had severe arthritis all through her body. She had some growths on her eyes removed. And then she had a nearly SIX pound tumor removed. A year later..she was getting worse and I know it will sound crazy but she was telling me for a while it was time but since I had also lost a dog suddenly when she just literally dropped dead that I was caring for, it was hard. But it was something for the love of her I had to do. I still have her ashes.

and I have two dogs still. I have Jack, who was very sad for a while since he is part border collie, a herding animal, and had been around other dogs all his life. So I went to the shelter after a few months and got another dog...one he picked out. They had two different ages written on the paper, 11, and 14, so I have no idea how old he really is. He is a sweetheart. HIs name is  Max. All my dogs have been rescue dogs.
