  • Nah, Duke still sucks, it's just that, like with everything else, their suck is sheltering at home for now.  It'll be back.

I'm assuming the Sports Central-pushing admin greened this.
  • Wearing my Duke Lemur Center shirt today!

/ won't somebody please think of the lemurs?!
  • Grew up in chapel hill, duke will always suck regardless of circumstances.
  • Isn't it just that Covid sucks more then Duke???
  • Paywall preventing me from seeing how Duke does/doesn't suck more/less than before/during 2020.
  • Who is this 'Duke' you speak of, and what exactly sucks about this being?

Oh, Duke may have a good cornavirus policy, but their basketball team will always suck.

/Regardless of if they're winning or not.
  • I had never heard of pooled testing before. Are other universities doing that as well, at minimum?

The University of Illinois at Urbana is doing well, but they are going full remote as of this week (planned).  Eastern Illinois University did okay-ish, but they did not test as well.   They went online learning only after this week, too, but it was not in their plan.  ISU is going remote this week, too, I think.

At least two community colleges locally to me are full e-learning this semester due to possible community spread.  And one just suffered a major hack of their systems (guessing ransomware,I have no insight here).

This is creating a learning gap, IMO.  With all facilities closed and public libraries barely open, students without computers are going to suffer.   It's only going to get worse.
  • Duke's got a big advantage over the schools in the public system:  they don't have to put up with the state legislature or the board of governors.
  • Paywalls have always sucked and still do.
  • Correction: Linking Paywalls is what sucks.

20 years later and the 20 year old jokes are still around. Fantastic!
