  • Fun fact:  Elephants are the only mammals with four knees.  You can see in the video how their back legs bend forward instead of backwards like a dog's leg in which the joints are technically ankles.

    Except it's bullshiat -- Elephants don't have four knees, they have two knees in their hind legs and two elbows and wrists in their front legs, just like every other mammal on the planet, including humans. The only difference is that the relative proportions of the various bones is different, so the joints appear to be in a different location than other mammals like dogs, which you're just more familiar with... But the basic skeletal structure is the same.  What many people interpret as a dog's "knees" are really their angles, since dogs hind legs literally walk everywhere on their tippy toes.
