Scandinavia, new zealand, australia, canada, and some european nations.
we have a ways to go before we get to their level. their citizens don't worship consumption and cash like we do.
you can't donate money to public office campaigns in scandianavian countries because they consider it Bribery.
that would be one place to start.....
unless we pull big money out of our elections and our CONgress, things are going to continue to slide downhill, just as they have over the last 40 years.

Sadly thanks to citizens united and greed, that would require a constitutional amendment.
So a majority of both houses and the state legislatures of 38 states would have to vote yes to kicking themselves out of the money trough.

They do... but for some strange reason they're not completely overrun with far-right and insane douchenozzles. Granted, most of the videos I look at are from mario-esque video games and car/house fixing videos, but still... back in the day... even completely innocuous videos would be completely overrun with racist/vile/sexist posts.
Maybe they were bots that Youtube purged, maybe automatic moderation is better, maybe they all fleed to another site... who knows.

My kids are 21 and 18. What in the actual everloving fark have we given them?
I'm going to take the afternoon of the 20th off and sit in front of the TV with a box of tissues and a bottle of The MacAllan, praying to a God I don't even believe exists that it doesn't get even worse.

You haven't hurt our feelings. The problem is that all of us that agree with you can't afford to change that. Those that have the gold, make the rules. But many of us are trying to put younger, unbeholden people into positions to change those rules.

But we celebrated Twitter and other social media when Egyptians were attempting to overthrow Mubarak.
I have a very different subjective view of them and their intent, but objectively, under the laws of the land they were living in, were they not also, objectively, traitors and seditionists? Are we asking AWS and Twitter and Facebook, as corporations, to apply subjective valuations to the government that people may wish to overthrow? Is the difference specifically violence as opposed to illegal activity? Were the Egyptian protesters or other proponents of the "Arab Spring" not promoting violence?
this is intended as a serious question. I'm perfectly willing to admit I may be ignorant about the Middle East protest participants.
