Spice Must Flow: Dr Demento used to play a weird sone called Tie Me Kangaroo Down, with this weird drum sound which I assumed was some aboriginal instrument similar to a didgeridoo. Turns out it was some guy shaking a giant piece of plywood.
Well, looking up that song, it was a hit in 1960 and re-recorded in 1963 by George Martin, and there is also a version where all the lines are about the different Beatles. "So we tanned his hide when he died, Clyde, and that's it covering Ringo's drums."
