dionysusaur:He's complaining that he's no longer profiting from it.
He's still profiting from it by writing a book about how bad Republicans are now. He's Lincoln Projecting which is highly profitable because right wing Democrats eat that shiat up.
Yeah dummies like him thought they could control the monster they created and helped grow. Now they have a large chunk of their party run by an evil moron and they will do his bidding. Have fun trying to unfark that pig.
Honestly Boehner can talk/write on it all he likes, he may have helped create the monster but he's more than welcome to scream about how bad it is now that its alive. I'm not going to read or listen to it because I dont need him to tell me how bad it is, but there's probably some people who do need to listen and they arent going to listen to me.
Boehner's a prick and a bad legislator (well, he was good at it, but his goals are evil), but I recall him not loving the TEA Party and being pretty bitter about them booting him from the Speaker's chair. (I also recall him telling Paul Ryan that the TEA Party is going to get him too.)
He didn't create GOP extremism and was powerless to do anything about it once it came for him.

// fark him and I hope history remembers very little about him other than him handing out tobacco lobby donations on the farking House floor
If he manages to successfully lobby for legalization, he will always be know as the lovable ol drunk stoner who got devoured by the crazy
So he hands the democrats a giant PR victory by calling his own party deranged and the democrats want him stopped and swept under the rug instead of leveraging it for political gain? Typical.

Who in their right mind would ever give him any sort of credit for legalization?
Of course, any chance of him - or any Republican - getting credit for legalization could be avoided if Democrats would just farking act, but we all know how that works. Or doesn't, as the case always is.

Yay, the guy who has absolutely no clout or pull whatsoever in his party is now bitterly lashing out.
All this does is move the right-of-center political party even further to the right.
Forgive me for not falling at his feet and praising him for acknowledging what grown-ups knew 20 years ago.
ImOscar:MFK: ImOscar: JFC this is the third boehner article this week, which is kind of crazy considering the guy has been retired for years.
His book just came out so he is doing the promo circuit
So we need to get variations of the same Boehner article greenlighted every other day? Ridiculous.
Well no but you seemed incredulous that there were so many articles about him since "he has been retired for years" and I was just pointing out that he is on a promotional book tour.

PR victories for Democrats don't get people living wages or health care, they don't fix our broken and corrupt institutions, they don't accomplish anything meaningful. "Republicans bad" doesn't help anyone, so it doesn't matter any more than saying "the sky is blue." It's just an accurate observation.
