Why do I get heartburn when I drink a glass of Sprite.

Because Sprite has a pH value of 3.29 and ethanol (drinking alcohol) is slightly basic at 7.33, so it's neutralizing the acid in the sprite making you suffer less

I'm torn on responding to the doctor part by making a "The Doctor" joke or a "Doctor Love" joke, but I can't choose between them.
But yes, there's lots of things. Booze, in moderation. Especially with a lemon twist will help. Cream based liquors will also help, though again, moderation.
Bananas, tea (herbal tea, and dependent on any allergies you could have), milk is also good.
Hell, chewing gum can help (don't swallow it), because it stimulates saliva production.
No coffee or chocolate (or a bunch of other things that make it worse)
I drink a lot of milk, so that's cool, but drink coffee every morning. I guess that's bad. And I love dark chocolate. I'm gonna die aren't I? Actually I already know the answer to that. Thank you, though, that was informative.
