  • "I have elected not to receive a COVID-19 vaccine for reasons which will remain private."

Oh it's not private at all. The reason is that you're a dumbass.
  • In his defense, Pullman is about 3,000 miles from civilization.  It's like those islands in the South Pacific of 50 natives that have no Covid exposure.  He should be fine.

The rest of that statement crystallizes which end of the spectrum he falls on:

"While I have made my own decision, I respect that every individual -- including our coaches, staff and student-athletes -- can make his or her own decision regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. I will not comment further on my decision."

I have some friends who have been unable to receive the vaccine due to immunological disorders.  If you ask those people whether others should be vaccinated, they will unequivocally speak in favor of it and they will tell you how infuriated they are at people refusing to get the vaccine because my friends are at risk.  If this jerkoff had a medical reason not to get the vaccine, I am willing to hazard this portion of his statement would have looked significantly different.

However, given his mealy-mouthed crap about respecting other people's decisions, there is zero doubt why he's not vaccinated.

"Look, I want to dispose of my toxic waste in the city's drinking water. Other people maybe don't; we can agree to disagree. I'm not going to explain my toxic waste decisions anymore."

/sad thing is so many people would call this a reasonable statement

This is classic libertarianism.  A libertarian will say "I should be able to do whatever I want as long as there is no harm to others."  That sounds great.  Who doesn't disagree with that?  The problem is that someone might think burning used tires in their backyard is not harmful and their neighbor might disagree.  Now, we need government to determine if harm exists.

IDK, I kinda support that people should be bound by the rules they want to set. If I have a libertarian neighbor, I should get to kill him and take his land without government getting in the way.

I think he's asking for something a little more specific.  Apocalypse covers a lot of potential disaster, self inflicted, natural, etc.
  • (only if I can prove he was libertarian, of course. Basically, "the victim didn't believe government should exist" should be a defense for murder charges like truth is for a libel/slander case)

And if they believe only God can judge, then hey, same thing.

"OK, you're free; the person believed only God can judge us, so I guess if God doesn't punish you for it, you're in the clear."

/but the person themselves doesn't get those rules, of course

  • The Plague on the Palouse. Looking forward to the forfeit in the Apple Cup
  • It's amazing how many people want to kill Americans rather than get a shot.  ISIS loves them.
  • I always used to root for WSU as a Pac-12 underdog. But this clown has changed that. Fark the Cougs.
  • My nephew plays Division 1 football. His conference says teams with an 85 percent vaccination rate don't have to follow covid protocols. His team is at 35 percent. He's also the only person in a house with seven football players to be vaccinated, and if he get pinged in a contact tracing, he'll have to quarantine, even though he's vaccinated. My brother is trying to talk him into moving into an apartment by himself.
  • My son plays high school football. The coach has made a constant point to all the players to get your physicals done by August 1 and strongly encouraging to get vaxxed. As the coach said, if you thought playing games in masks sucked, wait till 2 a days if we don't hit 85%.

    /My son is vaxxed
    //so is the coach
///he's even offered to drive the families of kids to CVS or Walgreens that don't have means
  • Coug-ing the immune system.
  • Can't lose the Apple Cup if you can't PLAY the Apple Cup. *Pointingatheadsmirk.gif*

    Yeah saw that...why?

Oklahoma I can understand somewhat.  Texas? They haven't been relevant since Mack Brown was their coach.  Hell, the boosters were desperate to pry Saban away from Alabama because they hate that Texas is an also ran program.

I would think that, for the players, it would really help if they get vaccinated so, you know, NFL scouts can take a look at them in action and have their chances of being a top 60 pick go through the roof?

    /yeah I said top 60
//2nd round pick can be even more important than a first round pick

Hadn't seen that.  Seems Texas is shooting itself in the foot losing the $$$ from the LHN but they also haven't won anything since it started.
