FTA: 'He had his Demons but the animals helped bring joy and happiness in his life. ' What a crock, it's no animal's job to keep a human sober. They have human issues & should straighten their crap out, not hang it on the shoulders of an animal that doesn't understand. There are no emotional support tigers. Also, lady, the DOJ didn't confiscate the animals you were abusing, the USDA did. Maybe knowledge like that would have led you down the road to responsibility instead of abusing or shotgunning animals to death when they became less profitable & then literally burning their bodies in a pile. Disgusting, the whole greedy, scheming, evil lot of them. They should never be allowed to have any animal in their possession again.

So you don't think that someone who was missing purpose in life, but found a purpose taking care of animals, was full of shiat?
Don't get me wrong. the people in that show were trainwrecks. and the zoo was a joke. but if someone discovers that "this is what i love, and I care about" and its something as pure as just feeding some animals, then thats fine with me. That guy didn't seem like he was a piece of shiat, especially compared to his peers.
He and the guy who lost his arm seemed to be the only ones really trying to do their best for the animals in the only way they knew how ( however misled and wrong they were).
Joe abused them in their time of need for his own ends.
stoli n coke:winedrinkingman: Was he the one with the bad teeth or the one who may have been on drugs?
He was the long haired ex-junkie who wanted to just take care of the tigers and be left alone.
I had to look up to make sure but crap, that is who I was afraid it was. He was one of the only people on that entire show that seemed to have any sort of soul and was moderately likeable.

So he was the one that seem to actually give a shiat about the tigers, and kind of just dealt with all the bullshiat for that reason. He kind of made it seem he was only working there, because if he didn't the tigers would probably be dead.
The stereotyping is strong with this thread. He seems like he may have made mistakes and bad choices, but we know nothing of the arc of his life.
I have been lucky to know a few people with an exterior that would cause folks to pigeonhole them. They were amazingly kind to me. And they could truly empathize when I was in a low place.

Yeah, I had the exact same take after watching it. Everyone on that show was a terrible human being in one way or another except for those two.
/ I did like the guy that had the prosthetic legs, too // he at least acknowledged that he was a dick sometimes
Sucks, though. He seemed to be the only person on that show who actually cared about the animals and wasn't a methed out psycho.
This. Most everyone else on that show may have been a walking talking sh*t show of a human being, but he was one of the few that you could tell actually cared about and loved those animals. Watching the one episode special add on they did following up with everyone that was involved well after everything went down, it wasn't easy watching the follow up with him.
R.I.P. tiger caring dude that had to deal with a bunch of crazy bullsh*t.
