  • Say what you will about the 80s movie, but Howard the Duck taught Marvel a lot about how not to make a comic book movie.

It would be really tempting to make a lot of the mistakes Howard The Duck made, like say if Gaurdians of the Galaxy made frequent racoon puns about Rocket, or even refered to him as Rocket the Racoon, instead of just Rocket, or have him have raccoon like behavior like eating from garbage or washing his food obsessively.

    1) don't hire a creepy pedophile looking dude to be the bad guy...cause he might be.

There are some positive lessons Marvel can take too.  Like more bestiality.  Assuming space ducks are built like earth ducks.

Yes. This mid-season trailer is mostly things that were already shown.

Or how Margot Robbie said "puddin' " a thousand times during the first suicide squad movie.  Might work in the comics but once is enough in the movies.

Most of this trailer was from previous episodes

Fun fact: they initially hired a child actor to play the physical performance of Howard, but he was later replaced by stuntman Ed Gale because the kid they had hired found the Howard suit too claustrophobic to wear for long. It would have made that scene far more awkward.

Yeah, and just imagine if every other comic book movie had the bad guy shooting a laser into the sky that opened up a portal to bring down more bad guys. How repetitive would that be?

I don't know about the comics, but the awesome 80s movie made him out to be a pretty good guy, if a bit reluctant from time to time.
