  • But given how the movie will come out on October 22, 2022, we're cautiously optimistic that by then, people will be able to safely spend time with others without being masked up, so it's unclear how the pandemic will be presented in the flick.

Um, that's like in about a week.

Might want to check that date again.

Ah, they're talking about the last one. Nevermind.

/people will still be wearing masks
  • Horror franchises never end. Freddy's Dead was 30 years ago and Jason Goes to Hell was 28. Chucky just got a TV show (shocked Freddy or Jason haven't) after a reboot.
  • I know this TFA is about a future flick, but I'll go see Halloween Kills because why TF not - but there are way better horror films out there right now (Candyman, The Night House), and upcoming (Last Night in Soho).

Well, I guess those aren't slasher films, but I haven't seen a decent mainstream slasher film in forever, so I have my doubts.
  • I want another decent Hellraiser movie.
  • Judy Greer's costume at the Halloween Kills premier.  I got nothing else.  She's awesome.

She did a really great job in the last with her character's instant pivot from faking being terrified to being a stone cold killer with a scary cathartic gleam in her eyes as she calmly pulled the trigger.
  • Still haven't seen the recent Halloween movies, despite the massive horror movie marathon I've been on. Halloween Kills is up on Peacock in two days and I'm hoping they release a few of the earlier ones too for the holidays.

The Curse of/Cult of Chucky movies were surprisingly solid. Putting the protagonist in a wheelchair was a smart move to help make a doll feel somewhat threatening again. I only like/hate-watch the original movies because of how much the ads used to terrify me as a kid versus how ridiculous they turned out to be (literally gave me nightmares and I didn't even see the movies until late teens/early 20s).

I think Freddy and Jason may be welly and truly gone now though. Both of their reboots sucked and I can't see anyone (successfully) filling in Englund's shoes at this point.
  • I think the mask is busy in outer space right now.
  • Dude. The last thing I want in any movie is covid, especially a Halloween movie. Movies are supposed to take you out of reality. That's especially important when reality farking sucks.

Is Woody Allen directing this one?

They both did, just not recently:
Freddy's Nightmares and Friday The 13th: The Series.
  • Slightly OT, but I already got my ticket to see the original 1978 Halloween (which I've never seen on the big screen before) on Halloween night at the Alamo Movie Drafthouse.

So I got that going for me...which is nice.

Holding the phone vertically for a still shot is bad enough but when shooting a movie, WTF?

That movie is so watchable, and a lot of it has to do with her. I love that she's wearing a Christmas sweater at Halloween. That's just objectively funny, and on point for her character.

Freddy had a series, but not Jason. Friday the 13th: The Series had nothing to do with the movies, and only used the title as an attention getter.

No, that wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at Ed Wood's intern there.

I remember those, I remember that.

Freddy's show didn't have anything to do with the movies either, did it? I think Freddy was the host, sort of like Rod Serling and The Twilight Zone.
