  • spluh? you can still buy at least half of those. I had a Choco Taco just last year. 'course, it was from dollar tree not some $4 ice cream truck...
  • Klondike bar?

    Fudgesicle?

    Chocolate eclair?

Those and others are still available.

    This.
This list reads like a modern ice cream aisle....
  • Yeah, I totally forgot about a Chipwich. Just lost to the sands of time.
  • Fudgicles (that's the correct pronunciation)
    Missile pops
    Push-ups
    Sidewalk Sundaes
    Orange Creamsicles
Man, summers were made for kids
  • I wish I would have grabbed the old "Teal" ice cream maker from Dad's house before sister raided it for ebay.
But then again those where only good when lived next door to a dairy and coule get cream either free (for Tomatoes, and Peaches) or like 50 cents a gallon. Even then it only got used on summer holidays.

  • lol, we had/have most of those here.  excepting the most luridly coloured ones, interestingly.

I'm pretty stoked to have found a commercial Hawaiian shaved ice/snow cone machine at a multi-day estate sale on their last day at the end of Fall last year.  It was buried under junk and nobody saw it, because you just can't beat the $20 price tag.  Can't wait to use it this summer.

You shove ice curbs down his hat...and cranked him up.
Tho, I think "Blue Carocea" and "Baily's Irish Cream" were not original flavors.
  • I didn't forget anything, but some of those I never saw. But there's one thing the submitter may have forgotten or not known. In the dim and misty late 70's in suburban Washington DC, we didn't say fudgesicle. We said fudgicle. In retrospect, it sounds rather Pennsylvanian.
  • List fails without these, brother.

  • My wife asked me to buy her those Outshine frozen mango bars sprinkled with Tajin. I got them for her but I haven't tried them myself. I'm convinced it's a prank, like those jalapeno lollipops.

That is awesome! my only question is how are you going to clean it out?
  • TIL: Things that existed during your childhood no longer exist.  Even if they still do.  ESPECIALLY if they still do.

Vinegar and scrubbing for the inner hopper. The metal blade comes off with a hefty knurled nut and I'll soak them first before scrubbing.  It was already pretty clean - only a little scale so I did a test run just cleaning it out with soap and water.  Before serving to others though, I'll give it a full clean out, including taking off the hosing and cleaning in there.
  • Not only are many available, I got drumsticks in my freezer right now.

Is snoppy literally pooping shaved ice there? That's cold man, cold.
  • Most of those post-date my childhood, not that I was able to afford anything from the ice cream truck very often. I think the Fudgesicle was my favorite.  Frozen Snickers we'd buy at the "beach", aka flooded gravel pit.
