I have seen Jaws at least 50 times. Read Benchley's novel a couple times as well. (Distinct differences)
The movie has hardly a wasted scene or piece of meaningless dialogue. Except, in my opinion, one.

No question about that.
I always find this scene with a local that Spielberg left in to be ....goofy? Just...out of tone with the rest of the film.
It really is a masterpiece.
