bdub77: Mike Pence is dumb as a rock, and his stupidity is only dwarfed by his cowardice. That he made a 'decision' that would not plunge the country into civil war does not make him any less of a coward.
A decision that probably would not have worked since Trump had the opportunity to write a letter to Congress saying he's fine and then it requires a 2/3rds vote from Congress to remove him. We couldn't even get a 2/3rds vote from Congress saying Trump shouldn't have tried to kill them.

Additionally, Trump can challenge and say he is fit, or now once again fit for office, and if so its up to Congress to decide, so you're right back to partisan lines.
Impeachment was the correct mechanism in this case... its just too slow and partisan to be useful.
